Peter King vs. Chris Kluwe Twitter Fight
If there's one thing all of us armchair jocks are guilty of, it's hollering advice at the pros on the field as if we really have any clue as to how they could do their jobs better than they do.![]()
Chris Kluwe and Peter King have themselves a Twitter fight.
This is more or less why Sports Illustrated writer Peter King and Vikings punter Chris Kluwe found themselves in a Twitter fight today.
Kluwe linked approvingly to a Deadspin post by Nate Jackson, the former former Broncos tight end, who said it's not cool for the team and the coach to blame the kicker for a losing game's worth of crappy play.
Here's the real link (I blame my phone). Take note of the author. This may enlighten some people. http://tinyurl.com/25zwqb9
Jackson's post centered on a flubbed kick by Giants punter Matt Dodge. King caught wind of Kluwe's tweet and responded with the suggestion that Dodge had no one to blame but himself.
RT @fkaJames: @SI_PeterKing RT @ChrisWarcraft (Kluwe) http://tinyurl.com/25zwqb9 ... Amazing how many are working to find excuses for Dodge.
Kluwe's retort:
@SI_PeterKing Amazing how expert some people are at things they don't know how to do. Tell me, technically, what should he have done?
And away we go:
@ChrisWarcraft (Minn p Chris Kluwe): Punt the ball out of bounds. An NFL punter should be able to do that consistently.
@SI_PeterKing Be precise please, including details such as his drop, his body angle, and the inclination of the ball.
@ChrisWarcraft: It's not my job. It's yours. You and Dodge are professional punters.
See how it wraps up -- on a high note -- after the jump.
