U of W Rose Bowl ticket scalpers reamed by campus newspaper

The home of rank capitalism.
The University of Wisconsin has the kind of problem we wish we had with the University of Minnesota: How to dispose of Rose Bowl tickets in a fair and decent manner.

For now, we'll just watch from a distance. It's quite a game, too. Some 5,800 student tickets went on sale Sunday for $150 apiece and sold out in flash. And within hours the tickets showed up on Facebook Marketplace at double and almost triple the face value.

Teabaggers probably cheer that kind of unfettered capitalism, but the conservative students behind The Badger Herald student newspaper are totally cheesed off.

Truly, there is a special place in Hell for people who buy Rose Bowl tickets with the sole intention of profiting from them. It is entirely unfair to those who actually love this football team.

Not content to sit back and rant, however, the student journalists have culled the names of scalpers from Facebook Marketplace, and published them under a wonderfully unfair and unbalanced headline: The Worst People on Campus.

Next, they intend to comb through Craigslist and StubHub.

Maybe if this whole Jerry Kill thing works out, the Minnesota Daily will have the honor of performing a similar task sometime in the hopefully not-to-distant future.
