Not ready for TwinsFest, or anything else for a while.
TwinsFest is moving to the National Sports Center in Blaine because the collapsed Metrodome won't be repaired in time to host the annual fan extravaganza.

Besides the change in venue, and a more limited number of tickets, the Twins say the event won't be any different from those in the past.

At least 60 current and former Twins players will be on hand for the fundraiser.

Hours:

  • Friday, Jan. 28 -- 4 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 29 -- 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 30 -- 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Ticket Prices:

  • Adults: $9 in advance, $15 at the door
  • Children: (14 & under): $5 in advance, $8 at the door

More details here.

The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission said yesterday that the Metrodome was now officially out of service until March, at least. Besides TwinsFest, that means that roughly 300 baseball games scheduled for the field in the next three months are also going to have to be played somewhere else.

A Texas firm will be in town soon to take complete inventory of the damage wrough by the blizzard., says Lester. The results should give the MSF a more precise timeline, but reconstructing the collapsed roof is sure to be a time consuming process.
