Jacob Volkmann, UFC fighter, visited by Secret Service after post-fight Obama tirade

UFC Fighter Jacob Volkmann wants to fight President Obama.

The Secret Service recently paid a visit to Minnesota mixed martial arts fighter Jacob Volkmann.

The visit came after Volkmann went on an anti-Obama tirade in his post-fight interview after dispatching his opponent at UFC 125 on January 1.

"He's not too bright," Volkmann said of President Obama. "Someone's got to knock some sense into that idiot."

"It was a cop and a Secret Service guy," Volkmann told Sherdog.com. "He came to my house first and I wasn't there. I was coaching youth wrestling at the high school. He said he wanted to ask me some questions about the post-fight interview. He said someone had called in D.C.

"He just asked me a couple questions, [like] if I was going to Washington to do anything to the president. I said, 'That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of,'" added Volkmann.

"It took maybe two minutes. He said he was embarrassed to even come out here, because he knew that nothing was going on."

What do you think? Was this an over-reaction from the Secret Service, or should Volkmann know better than to threaten the President?

I remember when Secret Service paid me a visit for saying WHEN I became President, I would have Bush arrested, tried and upon being convicted for his violations against the Constitution, I would beat him, torture him, IMPALE him, dismember him and then decapitate him.

The Secret Service automatically investigates every threat made against the President. They did due diligence, made sure it wasn't a serious threat, and case closed. I think if people can just keep from threatening the President, it will save everybody a lot of time.
