University of Minnesota student Keaton Patrick Murphy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of distributing child pornography. He was released that night. Now he's missing.

The last time anyone saw the 20-year-old from Iowa, he was leaving the Hennepin County jail at about 7:15 p.m.

His parents told authorities their son has suffered from depression in the past and may be suicidal. Based on that, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued an alert Saturday to help track him down.

Police describe Murphy as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 250 pounds. He has hazel eyes and sandy brown hair. He lives on the 600 block of SE Fulton St., near the university campus. Anyone who has information about his whereabouts should call University of Minnesota police at 612-624-2677.
