"Why We're Here" Twin Cities video is a shot of warmth in the dead of winter

Why are you here?
With more snow to shovel this morning, more on the way, and mountains of it piled around town, it's easy to forget that spring will, in fact, come as scheduled.

For a reminder, take a look at this video from Seven & Sixty Productions. In the middle of summer it asks a simple question: Why do you live in the Twin Cities?

The scenes were shot at the Stone Arch Bridge, the St. Paul Farmers' Market, Loring Park and outside the Cabooze. The soundtrack is from John Munson of the New Standards, the Twilight Hours, Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare.

Watch, and then tell us: Why are you here?

Wow, a wonderful antidote to a below zero morning. Being retired since 05 I always think about moving somewhere warm, but Florida? Arizona? There is not much there except for old people who sit around talking about aches and pains or golf. Yikes! I love the music, theater, museums especially the Walker, and endless libraries. And of course the great outdoors. I live in northeast Ramsey county, lots of open space and lakes with 137 whitetail deer as neighbors plus rabbits, voles, birds, owls, eagles, hawks - the good life.

I'm a transplant; almost all of my siblings and I moved here from Chicago and started families. Chicago is a great place to be from, but the Twin Cities are a great place to live. When I used to do a lot of business travel, I always felt glad that this was where I was returning to. I wish, though, that this video had featured a few more of the sights and sites that really make living here so exquisite. There is so much more to us than St Anthony Main and the Cabooze... and I agree about the crappy focus issues. Best part? John Munson music-- also a great reason that life is good here.

Lastly... the woman who loves the winters here could read the phonebook to me and hold my rapt attention. How wonderful and lovely.

Love the visuals and soundtrack, definitely appreciate the effort. But a little disheartened that the first "glowing" testimonial didn't happen until around 2:45. Would have liked to see the positivity sooner. The long intro itself seemed more like the people were coming up short on an answer to why we live here...total blank. Too bad, because the concept was cool. Thanks for making in regardless!

This was a sweet video, but I would have liked to see more facts behind the opinions. Maybe some statistics about why this really is the best place to live!

I like it.

I'm not cold enough Fresno, CA. Need to get colder again . . . in MSP.

Ouch!! That is hard to watch as we're thinking about moving! Loved the sound track.

Wonderful music and audio mix; good sound is very imported. I look forward to the day when audiences reject racking focus as an art form.

This needed more than pretty pictures with an expensive DSLR, it needed compelling testimonials, not the usual from folks just passing by.
