Michele Bachmann begs for cash after Clinton calls her divorced from reality
|Bill Clinton and Michele Bachmann: Fundraising power couple.|
Right on cue, Bachmann turned Clinton's jibe into a fundraising gold mine. Send her money to defeat the evil socialist Barack Obama, she begged in an e-mail to supporters. Send it now, before it's too late!
"Michele Bachmann said in her tea party response to President Obama, 'Everybody knows we have the greatest health care system in the world.' That is factually untrue. That's not true," Clinton told the gathering in Switzerland. "I think what America needs as much as anything else is to stop conducting its politics in a parallel universe divorced from reality with no facts."
But Bachmann is laughing all the way to the bank. In her e-mail pitch for cash, she doesn't even bother trying to refute the former president, she just changes the subject:
This week, while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Clinton attacked my efforts to overturn Obamacare and said I live "in a parallel universe divorced from reality with no facts."
The fact is that we have seen President Obama and his liberal allies push for socialist policies that are bankrupting our nation. Their out-of-control spending has raised our national debt to over $14 trillion. And if he gets his way, this debt will grow even higher this year.
Clinton probably saw this coming. It's happened before. He was in town last fall, stumping for Bachmann's Democratic opponent Tarryl Clark, when he called Bachmann the "ultimate example of putting ideology over evidence," and that "it's pretty stupid."
Send her money, she said, and she'll feel a lot better.
