• Fdhdfn: Your partially correct - they are generally pressurized and heated but you do need to verify that information for your particular flight since most airliners are in the 15-25 year old range for most US carriers. Also animal mortality rates are extraordinarily high when using air travel, some airlines are better than others some airlines have mortality rates as high 22% and these are major carriers so take that in to cosideration. this information is available through any of the humane society webpages.

• Once again ignorance is shown by poorly researching writers. There is no such thing as an unheated , unpressurized belly of a jetliner. All modern aircrafts can transports animals safely in the cargo compartment. It is of course pressurized and lighted. Temperature might be A few degrees less but generally is the same. When you pressurize a cylinder as is the airplane frame, you don't pressurize just the top half, makes no sense

• I remember hearing about that on NPR once re. pressurization, but I don't recall them being /heated/. If they aren't heated the puppy will assuredly die. There would've been a few possible outcomes if the puppy had been shipped: -Puppy dies of thirst -Puppy scratches way out of box in flight or in the post office. -Puppy freezes if kept in unheated area. -Puppy suffocates. -Puppy survives, and when opened a scratched-to-bits box of urine and feces releases a wonderful smell. Dog smeared with urine and feces jumps out of box and runs off in terror. Dog probably ate the money in the box. Recipient is traumatized for life. Adoption agencies usually background and interview before giving out dogs, so where did she get one? Craigslist?

• I'm just amazed that someone who is dumb enough to think that they can mail a dog across the country is somehow able to clothe herself and successfully travel to a post office.
