Twin Cities snow storm breaks February record

Time to move the cars again.

​Just like Snowmageddon in December, the February blizzard is one for the record books.

The 13.4 inches of snow that fell at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport starting Sunday was the largest amount ever from a single February storm, according to the National Weather Service.

It was also first time that more than a foot of snow fell on the Twin Cities in February.

Couple that news with December being the snowiest ever in Minneapolis, and the fact that we blew past the average winter snowfall back at the end of January, and you have the makings of a very long winter.

Day 2 of snow emergency parking starts at 8 a.m. in Minneapolis.

​Minneapolis also broke a related record yesterday, declaring its eighth snow emergency in a single winter.

Minneapolis is now on Day 2 of parking restrictions, so get out there and move those cars:

Park on the ODD side of non-Snow Emergency Route streets starting at 8 a.m.

Park on either side of streets with the red sign: Snow Emergency Route.

Do not park on the EVEN side of non-Snow Emergency routes.

Do not park on either side of parkways.
