Michele Bachmann for president: The website

Run, Michele, run!
Michele Bachmann's inescapable media-grandstanding has been a constant throughout her political career.

But if you've tracked her lately, you've probably noticed she's more omnipresent than ever, and you've heard the relentless drum of approaching thunder: Bachmann is thinking of running for president.

Well, think of this as the first visible flash of lightning from the coming storm: There is now a Draft Bachmann movement, and it has a website: www.weneedmichele.com.

The website is from the same people who just a few months ago were trying to get Bachmann to run for Speaker of the House. Having lost that battle, they're moving straight to the big dance.

The website is dominated by a picture of Bachmann radiating an unearthly milky glow and backed by a giant American flag.

"America has been through enough the past four years," the site proclaims.

"Under Barack Obama's watch, we endured a financial meltdown, a socialist takeover of our health care system, redistribution of wealth, record deficits, and massive unemployment. We cannot sit idly by and watch as our country and freedom are stolen from us. We cannot afford four more years of Obama's gangster government morally and financially bankrupting our country."

Socialism! Wealth redistribution! Gangster government! These guys are definitely talking Bachmann's language.

It's unclear how many people have signed the online petition to drag Bachmann reluctantly into the national spotlight of a presidential campaign. But Bachmann has never been one of those elites who tries to stand in the way of the will of the people.

With weneedmichele.com begging her to run, how can she refuse?

Bachmann is a Jewish zealot who lived on a kibbutz in her earlier career. Her criticisms of Obama are automatically computer generated to ANY action by our president yet she takes Medicaid money to finance a business without batting an eye. She is viciously misinformed on the important issues [including where the duke was born] She is vociferous and garbled in her analytical assessments of government. She is fdangerous but bold even when she's wrong. Beware of this candidate folks.

Liberals really do come up with the best ideas to benefit very specific groups that, what-do-you-know, vote for them!! And the biggest problem isn't the corrupt nature of favoritism, but rather having no plan to pay for it other than to tax those who are actually productive. My fiance, raised liberal but has seen the light says it best, "Government is nothing more than a pacman eating itself. If you take away the illusion that has been created by government, America is becoming nothing more than a bankrupt nation of spoiled brats who simply want to spend other people's money, and do so on the claim that a) we have it in the first place to spend and b) that their vision of return on investment is superior to that of the free market. Liberals could not be more wrong and they are destroying this once great nation.

@ tnelson! you say: "If you are working 2 or 3 jobs(like me) to pay your bills" You sound like an heavy consumer/polluter whom is borderline of living outside their means. But hey, I like overachievers like yourself and the Kosh brothers. Hopefully someday tony, you will also provide the "middle class" with jobs like the Kosh Brothers instead of only consuming the mush needed jobs to support you "fat cat" lifestyle. Although I cant figure out why you don't know how many jobs you actually have. Are you slinging dope on the street corner to kids where one of these said "jobs" you have is so tainted that you not sure if you can call it a job?Furthermore, the Kosh brothers have a division which specializes in technology to provide "Clean air, clean water" which you stated the "middle class" demands. But yet a person who demands clean this and clean then demonizes the ones helping provide this.In addition, I like that you recognize this; "Who needs the American middleclass, they expect things." That a good perspective Tony! Sounds as if you're half way there. Here is the final outcome to that "middle class" demand; Keep demanding, and eventually you have little or nothing. Much of the world demands nothing of their companies within. Only that they provide them with products/services, jobs, paychecks. Here in America, we demand, demand, demand or our companies. People open business to make money not provide jobs. That's BBA 101 people. How may "middle class" people have you worked for. (making less than 60k year) Unfortunately I'm poor-middle class, but I don't intend to remain this way.

Why does Michele scare the women of this state, whom don't shave their armpits?I always thought the feminist liked other strong women. Why does Michele scare the men of this state, whom look as if they got lost on their bicycle in the wilderness for weeks?I always thought the feeble bicycle riding man like being ruled by strong women. Funny how both parties’ I speak of, have wildly unmanaged hair.I wonder if both parties’ I speak of belong to the same commune. Hmmm...

Oh such tolerance from you "tolerant liberals". Why are you so scared of someone you should be tolerant of? Ah, has my little dog, starting pulling back the curtain to expose the real wizard?

Please, Michelle, Run. It would be the greatest gift to the Democratic Party, Comedy Central and Kathy Griffith in years. Please, please run like crazy. In other words, be yourself.

Wow, I do love comments from middle class people complaining about other middle class people. If hadn't been for your & my grandparents voting for people to create laws & programs that enabled us to grow up in a cleaner environment with good schools, medical care, police & fire protection, good roads, parks & all the benefits of the U.S.A. You & I will never pay enough in taxes or make enough money to continue the american dream that we are living. The reason we have been seeing low tax receipts is in part to the recession but mostly to all the tax cuts that the corporations & wealthy have received under Ventura, Pawlenty & Bush. Corporations made record profits as did the wealthy in spite of the recession but 2/3 of all corporations paid no taxes & the wealthy pay a smaller percentage of their income in taxes than we do. The middle class can't afford to pay more & with the cuts to LGA & state support to the counties, your property taxes will keep going up. Unless you want to close the libraries & schools & old folks homes, put the blind & the mentally challenged on the streets, let the bridges fall down & put out your own house fires, we need tax money & a large part must come from the rich to maintain the country as you know it. Right now 400 people control most of the wealth in this country. Theodore Roosevelt & FDR saw this & created laws to have the rich somewhat more in taxes(yet they still could afford their mansions) & allowed our parents & their children reach a much higher level of living & you want to give that all away. Either your very wealthy(& I hope you are) or you do not plan to have kids as someone in the middleclass can never on their own afford to raise a family without substantial help from people of wealth, either thru their investments or taxes, it's just a fact.

Let me write slower so you can understand. I work 2 jobs(printer & lab technician) + county planning commisioner. I am also on boards for Trout Unlimited, Dakota County Habitat alliance & Dakota County SWCD. On the weekends I re-build trout streams & help people clean up their water. As far as the Koch bros. and clean air, talk to the people around the Pine Bend refinery. Every family in the immediate area has lung problems or cancer including my brother & his son. He sued the refinery & won the lawsuits(all 10 of them). You may remember it, the feds & state fined them about 60 million & they changed the name to Flint Hills to get the Koch name off it. I see you agree with big business that employees should have no pay demands & accept the pay of someone in Malaysia to keep their jobs. Our parents and granparents were smart enough to get the 40 hour workweek & paid vacations & everybody got a pension, why are you willing to take less? Oh by the way I owned my own business for 15 years & my current boss is middle class & he employs 32 of us. As far as expecting things like clean air & water & a decent salary, it is to provide for our children. We are helping our son pay off his college debt(3 degrees), he teaches college english & no, his benefits & salary have been frozen for 2 years. Look, I have given you plenty to learn from(do that reading & turn off Fox), I still havent' worked up a sweat but I got to go back to work. Have a nice day.

What all of America is afraid of is that that you tea-baggers can't see her for what she is. A tool of the Koch brothers & the other multi-nationals that want to return us to the 1850's when we had no middleclass & people who tried to get any worker rights were if they were lucky, immediately fired or beaten up or killed. Read your history books(real books, not the ones from Beck University) & learn why people are taking to the streets to preserve what rights to a decent middleclass existence we have left. Warren Buffet offered a million dollars cash to any CEO that paid a higher percentage of his income in taxes than his secretary...sorry, no takers.

Ok Tony, now I understand whom I'm talking to. Half your life is dedicated to taking from many, to give to a few. Many times, doing so with no goals or limits to the taking and spending. Watch this people - Hey Tony, on the issue of "Trout Unlimited"; what is their goal? I mean with education, there is what is known as a "testing gap". Is their some sort of "trout gap" your organization wants to fill? How many trout do you wish to see per mile? Did you know that the funding from the "Land, Legacy Act" spent an average of $174,000 per mile for trout stream restoration in 2010 per their own admission at their testimony at the Capital a couple weeks back. Yes I watch that boring stuff. It airs for free on DTV 2.2How many miles did you "help restore" last year Tony. For what; an insufferable desire to spend others money and "feel important"?These trout streams benefit how many taxpayers for $174,000 per mile? Tax the many, benefit the few. Let me guess, you trout fish right? No shortage in elbow room in that sport is there Tony. (The few)Dakota County you say, well here is the 2011 Clean Water Fund Competitive Grants Awarded for Dakota CountyGrant # C11-34 - Black Dog WMO - Whitney Pond Water Quality Improvement Project - The project involves constructing a 1.9 acre detention pond with an in-pipe grit chamber and upland native plant buffer, 25' wide, to reduce the annual total phosphorus load to Keller Lake by 53 lbs. - Price tag $475,000$475,000 for a filtration pond with a goal to remove less than $200 of phosphorus bought at ACE? Any idea what level this reduction would bring us back to in that lake? 60's, 50's, 40's levels? Come on, SWCD is you cup of tea, and thus your SWCD pandering hand should know. Lets seeKeller lake is 51 square acre lake in Dakota County and has a max depth of 7 feet with NO boat launch for the public. 1/2 million dollars benefiting a few lake residents living on the lake with a goal to reduce lake weeds? Elitist bull s**t if you ask me. Tax and spend people, tax and spend! Recession for rest of us with our personal budgets, but government always expects to get a raise over last year. Ya, they say their taking cuts, but there is a reason the say "cuts" without ever providing numbers to the cuts. Their cuts to the projected increases they expected to receive. Waa Waa my raise got "cut" by 50%.Think I'm making this stuff up? Look it up!

And in response to the Flint Hills refinery; who was there first? Your brother and his family, or the refinery? Your brother no longer has a wife, or wasn't she affected by the pollution? If it's the latter, sounds like a genetic disposition to such. And your brother passed on his genetic defect to your nephew. There was not much thought to that move.

Fox News Tony? I thought I made myself clear by saying I'm of the poor-middle class. I cannot and should not be able to afford cable or satellite TV. So I don't have it.As for your sons college debt; well sounds like the "out of control" tuition costs got him good. That sir comes from insufferable greed by professors and the huge desire of a college to always make "next years budget" bigger than this year. Hopefully you son had learned from his tuition experience and his loan debt and help provide a better future for tomorrows student. But then again, sounds like he punted that responsibility to you. 2 year freeze in pay, welcome to the real world!

By the way, "Let me write slower so you can understand"? How does you writing slower help me understand? Sounds like typical elitist condescension, with attempt to portray the problem as mine....

Wow you just gobble up the talking points and run with them without any contemplation of what you suggesting. Why would Koch brothers want to destroy the middle class?Who is the end consumer of the majority of their products?Oh ya, any good business man wants to destroy the consumer of their product. Surely destroying their consumer base will make them money. Think people!and beck university, what is that? Another talking point?

Take from the many to give to the few? Thats what Republicans do(remember their income went up, the middle class went down). As far as Trout Unlimited, we clean up streams & lakes, when you do that the fish take care of themselves. Who benefits? Anyone who drinks water, much of that water soaks into the ground & recharges the aquifer. Again who benefits? All the people of Minnesota. Fishing is a billion dollar plus industry in MN. This creates jobs, what have you done. As far as Keller, I live on that lake. Over half the shoreline is park land accessible to anyone, boats too. Boat launch? Are you going to launch your Lund on a 50 acre lake. Why clean it up? The people of Burnsville & Apple Valley asked for it. It's their money. On the refinery, when he moved in in 1973 it was tiny & no problem. It grew much larger with no oversite at all, not even building permits. Gasoline was leaking into the Mississippi over 2 miles away. Yes, it affected his wife & ALL the neighboring families. As far as being condescending, not at all, just challenging your narrow point of view. Lose the hate, go volunteer at a food shelf, learn about the rest of humanity. You will find that you fellow middle class people aren't the problem.

I won't even break a sweat on this one. Glenn Beck has started a University to educate the huddled masses with his version of the truth. As far as the Koch brothers, they are believers of the the writings of William F. Buckley. Upon viewing the children of the new middleclass protesting the Viet Nam War he wrote that this is what happens when you empower the working class. A so was hatched a view that the moneyed elites should re-take control of the U.S. To end the middleclass rise in power. Since 1980 middleclass income has stayed flat & the top 1% has seen their income go up by 286%. Take the good paying manufacturing jobs & send them overseas. If you are working 2 or 3 jobs(like me) to pay your bills, you have no time to run for office or campaign for candidates that support the middleclass. Buy up the newspapers & news channels & control the message. Remember, "the media is the message". Try reading some of the books of Buckley and others from that time. Fox business channel reported that the big multi-national companies have seen 70% of their new income come from outside the US. Who needs the American middleclass, they expect things. Clean air, clean water, good schools...that costs profits. That was easy, what else you got..
