Tim Pawlenty: nobody knows his name

What's it gonna take for Tim Pawlenty to become a household name? Over-the-top movie trailers? A bomb of an autobiography? Speaking in a Jimmy Swaggart drawl?

Evidently, these recent strategies aren't enough to do it. Only 41 percent of Republicans and Republican leaners recognize our former governor's name, according to Gallup numbers released today. Ouch.

In a field of 12 potential Republican presidential contenders, Pawlenty finished a paltry 9th. That's gotta hurt on the week our hockey-loving former Gov announced his committee to explore a presidential bid.

Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, and Newt Gingrich are still the most recognized Republican names. And our own Michele Bachmann comes in far ahead of Pawlenty, at Numero 5.
