Tim Pawlenty: nobody knows his name
What's it gonna take for Tim Pawlenty to become a household name? Over-the-top movie trailers? A bomb of an autobiography? Speaking in a Jimmy Swaggart drawl? ![]()
Evidently, these recent strategies aren't enough to do it. Only 41 percent of Republicans and Republican leaners recognize our former governor's name, according to Gallup numbers released today. Ouch.
In a field of 12 potential Republican presidential contenders, Pawlenty finished a paltry 9th. That's gotta hurt on the week our hockey-loving former Gov announced his committee to explore a presidential bid.
Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, and Newt Gingrich are still the most recognized Republican names. And our own Michele Bachmann comes in far ahead of Pawlenty, at Numero 5.
