Timothy Lamere is set to be charged with third degree murder on Monday.
Blaine police have arrested 21-year-old Timothy Richard Lamere for supplying the hallucinogen 2C-E that caused 11 people to overdose, killing one.

He will be formally charged with third-degree murder in the death of Trevor Robinson, who died on Thursday. Early Thursday morning, at a spring break party in Blaine, several people either took pills or snorted the hallucinogen 2C-E which had been bought by a party guest over the internet. According to cops, that person was Timothy Lamere.

Andy Young, a lifelong friend of Robinson's, responded with anger.

"I hope he gets life! Trevor was my best fucking friend!" he wrote in an email. "We were together for everything!"

Rumors are swirling within the group of friends that the drug was mixed with some other chemical or cleaner. But Fenner says the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, which analyzed the substance, confirmed that it is 2C-E and to his knowledge did not discover any other harmful substances in it. He says Blaine police are investigating along with Anoka County.

Buying 2C-E online is still legal, though buying its chemical cousin 2C-I is not. Trevor Robinson, a 19-year-old college student, took some of the drug and started having having trouble breathing soon after. He was driven to the hospital and left in the parking lot unconscious. He died later that day after being taken off life support.

Ten other people at the party were treated for overdoses, and at least nine of them are now at home. Sadly, Robinson was not so lucky, and he's left a five-month-old son behind.

* One dead, 10 hospitalized in mass drug overdose in Blaine

* Trevor Robinson, 19, dead from 2C-E overdose

This is the most insane thing i have every heard!!! Tim should NOT be charged with murder for this. NO one shoved the drugs down Trevors throat. Trevor took the drugs on his own. If anything Tim should be charged with drug distribution or something, but not murder. It would be like if I went to the bar, got waisted and died of alcohol poisoning and then my family charged the bar owner with murder! that's CRAZY!!!

Lotta folks here don't understand how American society works. Here's how it works. You give a drug to someone. That person takes the drug. That person dies. You get busted and hit with a heavy charge. I'm not saying this is right or good or just, I'm saying it's the way American society works, and should be borne in mind at all times, when drugs are involved.

For heaven’s sake, this guy lost his best friend who he loved like a brother. Not only that but he also overdosed and was taken to hospital. Instead of a scapegoat find the lab where this rubbish synthetic get-me-rich-quick sheet was made and burn it and sentence the people ( who are probably much older than 21) who made it for murder instead.

Tim is the nicest person I have ever met it is not his fault that some kids want to push their own limits.

If these kids wanted to get messed up, they would have another way to do it, possibly sniffing glue or something else that could have kill them

I am sitting here in disbelief with such uneducated comments. I am Trevors mother and have still not slept since my son died March 17th 4 days after his 19th birthday. I need you to understand neither my family or myself have ever blamed or wished any what so ever ill will or prison time to his dear friend Tim which bless his heart has already suffered enough. That poor kid has already endured I cant imagine such pain and blame for not knowing he purchased a legal internet substance with his only purpose was to share with his friends to celebrate my sons birthday. I know that Tim loved Trevor and I also know Trevor loved him back and I hope to God I will be able to tell that to Tim in person. You all need to realize this was purchased legal and not one of you can say you have never used legal medication whether prescribed or purchased so think about that next time you pop your over prescribed legal prescriptions or do a few too many cocktails and swear your able to drive . Or maybe think about what you did when you were a teen or what your teens might be doing you dont know about or want to know. The people that take my sons death and turn it to negative thoughts and emotions ( you all know who you are) need to show some respect for our loss and all those who have suffered. Time for you sick morbid negative energy mfs to move on to your next turn of events in your obvious lonely nothing better to do, sit on your computer which has become your only friend poor excuse of human life and go judge another story. The only thing to come of all this is no more bad choices for the curious teens and stop this money making internet site from distribution. My sons death will have saved thousands. Can any of you sick bastards say that??

I am apauled by him being charged with 3rd degree murder. I know and I feel for the family that they want someone to blame but this kid isnt it. first off he wasnt selling he was giving it away to whoever wanted it, he didnt know himself that it was bad. he was one of the ones taking to the hospital as well. trevor had a choice to take it he wasnt forced nor did he pay for it. I know the outcome is horrible but really he did it to himself he was partying having a good time and just went with the flow. that is all good and fine but a tragedy happened and its truly sad but he chose to do what he did. Its like saying bc you drink and drive and kill someone the beer company is responsible for the dealth ... no! you are because you chose to get drunk and drive. I am not saying this is a tragedy but put blame where it belongs yes he was given the drug but he chose to take it and the guy that sold it didnt ask for $ it was at a party. its shitty all around but lamere has to live with the fact he had the drugs and it caused a death with ppl he was partying with. all I know is my next dwi im blaming the company of beer which ever it may be for my next dwi.... they supplied the product so its there fault right!!???

Alcohol is still Illegal if your under 21 right and alcohol will inhance the affect of any drug right so everyone there guilty!!!! 3. Druggies will be druggies looking for that buzz it was not their first rodeo!!! 4. Who supplyed the Ahcolol 5. If the DA wants to make a point WHY not bring charges on everyone there thay are all guilty of 3 degree MURDER ( if you participate in a crime or ILLEGAL activety you are this as guilty as the person doing the crime!!!! ) 6. IS it 3-degree Murder NO WAY its a Tragedy 7. I can go on but im sick of all that happened and all everyone wants to say is hang the supplyer well allwellbro if you where such a good friend you should have STOP trevor from taking DRUGS or the next TIME it might be someone elses freind that dies of a overdose that YOU might have given that person. One last thing if its a FEDERAL LAW then that alone should make everyone guilty!!!!

that is not correct, the person that took him to the hospital brought him inside and a nurse started cpr, and another thing, timothy lamere mixed that stuff with bath salt to make it some type of stupid legal cocaine, and thats from people that were at the party that fled the scene!! he was the only one who knew what was in that vial, he cut it, hes been selling it for years, hes a piece of shit that deserves to rot in jail for what he did or be tortured like he tortured my friends

Between the decision to buy a synthetic drug off the internet, the decision to consume a drug that some dude bought off the internet, the decision to dump a dying friend in a hospital parking lot, and that kid's email quote above, I have to conclude that this is just a big group of dipshits, and this is just one tragedy that can occur when a big group of dipshits get together. It's sad that the kid had to die, especially since he was a father, but, man, with all the debate about the various legal ins and outs in this case, maybe we should consider a law prohibiting so many dipshits from gathering in one place unsupervised.

This situation, and situations like this further support Darwin's theory. People who are stuipd enough to take a drug they no nothing about, not prescribed, not knowing the dose, not knowing what the drug can do to you... can't expect anything more than this outcome.

Wren Rouge

I do not understand how LaMere is responsible for Robinson's death. If the police are so hell bent on charging someone they should look into whomever left Robinson in the parking lot to die. That person was well aware that Robinson was having a medical emergency and then made the decision to abandon him.

Isaac Anthony

Unfortunate a kid had to die. Where's the personal responsibility factor come in when illegal drugs are involved? Firearms dealers sell guns that kill people EVERY DAY but none of them are ever charged as an accomplice, let alone responsible for the murder, how is this different?

Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter

Wow, another case of authorities trying to obscure their ignorance with public blame. This man stands to go to jail on severely inflated charges, simply because he was involved in distributing a legal substance to a dolt who lacked the chemistry skills and common sense not to kill himself. This man did no direct harm to anyone, nor did he have the intent, yet he stands to be punished for Trevor Robinson's senseless waste of his own life.

Man.

Cassie I really wish I would of read this when everyone was writing all this because you need to understand I for not one moment nor has any of my family ever blamed Timmy. Get your facts straight before you blab your crap. There is unfortunetly nothing we can do with the legal charges he has been charged with. To be quite honest blame should lie entirely on the internet site for wrongful death and no warning or cautions documented. So if you are able to understand the judicial system in USA then you should be able to understand they have to pass the blame to tim. That would be called cya ( cover your ass)

BCA report states that the 2C-E in question had not been manipulated in any way. And all other reports claim Trevor was left in the hospital parking lot. So where are you getting your info from? I think you should check your resources. Timothys intent was never to harm anyone, quite the opposite actually.

Rightfootedduck
Rightfootedduck

The BCA determined that there was nothing added or manipulated with the 2C-E in question. What is your resource? Timothy had no intent on harming anyone, quite the opposite actually. And every report I have seen claims Trevor was left in the parking lot...

Again, it's different because this kid had no license to do what he did. Bottom line. Just as you can't deal firearms without a license, you can't sell drugs, legal or not.

It's diffenent because the participants, want to consume the drugs!

the fuck he didnt, he was selling that shit for years on end, hes od'd on that shit countless times and he should be held responsible, if he would have never brought it around , none of us would have known what the fuck it was

you sick fuck. Stop writing crap you know nothing about. Oh ya, this by the way is trevors mother and Timmy I love and hope he receives councel and treatment. However no one including Tim knew how much or what exactly they were taking and my son trusted in his friend that he was in safe hands. You really need to find another hobby cause you suck at this one.... In my sons system was no booze, pot, any whatso ever even over the counter asprin it was this one drug all by itself. My son was an amazing dad and friend and was smart and had nothing but love and life in his suddenly taken life. His 19 years of life has been more meaningful and filled with love than you could ever hope for in your entire lifetime

First, distributing the substance in question, whether it was 2C-E, 2C-I, or MDPV, for the purposes of consumption is not "legal" and hasn't been in the twenty years since the Analogue Drug Act was passed. ISecondly, sure, Mr. Robinson made a poor decision, but it is generally considered unconscionable in our society to sell lethal goods and services to those unaware of the risk, whether it be tainted beef, faulty automobiles, or untested pharmaceuticals. This why we have things like civil law, the charge of third degree murder, and "waiver forms".

I don't know all of the details of Mr. Lamere's case, it's not my place to declare his innocence or guilt, and I can't even begin to guess his intent, But just as Robinson made a decision to ingest a random unknown chemical, Lamere allegedly made a decision to sell an illegal and potentially deadly chemical to people who obviously didn't didn't understand the possible risk involved. .

Agreed. Just because someone supplies the drugs, doesn't mean you have to take them. If you are going to put crap like that into your body, do the research yourself first and think about what you're doing. You can't place all the blame on the supplier; he didn't force anyone to take the drugs.

Doug Booker

they should all get charged if thats the case.. how is one of the friends going to blame the other one when you all got in the car with him dying or possibly dead and leave him in the parking lot..

No shit. Some friends and I had to force some random kids at a party about 10 years ago to take their friend to the hospital after he drank about 6 oz of 190 proof grain alcohol in a single gulp. He passed out and started foaming within a few minutes. They were all about 18 and probably would have let him die just so they didn't get in trouble.

i get my resources from the people that were there, not some news reporter that has been told something from sombody else n put into theyre own words, my facts are as straight as kat williams,

I have to disagree. There are liquor stores and bars in every corner of every part of our society. Lots of them PREY on people who are weak of mind/reason. If these kids took "2C-E" they read or were told what it does and if someone forced it upon them, that is another crime in itself. The point is, liquor KILLS more people than every other drug ingested: combined and it is legal. And if we have a society that agrees that it is people that kill people and not guns that kill people, then we are agreeing that it is the responsibility of the one in possession of the item that kills and not the one that sold them the killing item who should be responsible for the death it caused. Otherwise a lot more manufacturers and distributors of items more lethal than "2C-E" should be in prison...

You're missing toseewhy's point. Hypocrisy of alcohol being a deadlier killer aside, this kid had no license to sell the drugs he did. To sell and distribute drugs and alcohol one must have a license. This is essentially to protect the consumer and let them be informed about what risks they are taking. Alcohol has warning labels. Legal drugs have drug dosage labels. This kid sold and cut up unmeasured lines at a party. Sad as it may be, it for sure can be considered 3rd degree murder.

East Coast Doug
East Coast Doug

Well .... we could abolish all drugs: including alcholo.

The deal is do we want a significant of our poupolation addicticated / zoned out on drugs?

This is really the question. If drugs are better than relaility, then we should all be on drugs?
