Bachmann...isn't she a Jew? She of all people should know better than to put out this kind of misinformation that promotes hate, encourages prejudice and rewards violence with 'well, they deserve it anyway.' It's always infuriated me on two levels: First, heterosexual people who say absolutely nothing about the current state of sex in their world (Teen Mom, 16 & Pregnant, just about every white girl in Minneapolis has a part-black baby); yet because gay men are perceived as white, overeducated, and rich, well, hey, they don't deserve to have all the things they have! Let's be green with envy and attack them.

On the other hand, I am extremely disappointed with what's happened in the gay community. Gay people couldn't care less about what happens to other gay people. We have thrown each other under the bus so many times there's nothing left of us. We have stopped coming out in favor of hiding online in chat rooms and looking at porn so we never have to deal with real people, have real relationships, and risk our parents not paying for our college/condo/whatever - so we are so motivated by money and greed that truth loses. Meanwhile, all that lying that we as gay people do to cover our butts doesn't go away after coming out. Instead we lie to each other about the cheating, the ripping each other off, the 'mean girls' attitude that is so prevalent in the gay world now...we are grown men with the personality and emotional characteristics of a 9th grade girl. The groups and dances that used to be held at the college GLBT groups are completely gone - 10 years ago we had so many interested GLBT folks attending we added a second night. Now we have no dance at all, and the few who did respond via email wouldn't show up unless they could see the pictures of who else was coming (so they could then decide if it was 'worth their time'. Yea. That's gay pride for ya. At this point I laugh when people bring up gay marriage. What a joke - the majority of us can't even find anyone to date to begin with; the few who do have no social skills or anything that tells them to actually work through conflicts and disagreements, so the relationships are over within six months. So let us not forget that for every hateful witch of a woman like Michelle Bachmann, we have plenty of hateful gay people who love to watch other gay men fail in life. That needs to stop before anything else.

I resent your comments, sir. I understand your frustration, believe me I do. However your views are staggeringly myopic. The gay community has different niches and groups just as mainstream America, perhaps even more, so if you don't like the people who surround you then get new people. It's that simple. Also, the gay community is not all there is. Some of us do not consider ourselves gay, I consider myself queer. You would find a world of difference in the queer community as well.

Unless you decide to go out and make your way through every single gay/queer community in America and meet every gay/queer person in America, you cannot comment on every gay/queer person in America. Instead of trying to tear everyone else down, why not encourage your fellow members to step up to the plate? Because you are doing exactly that which we are fighting so hard against: Throwing ignorant, short sighted generalizations and blanket statements over an entire community.

The next time you feel the need to spew angst and smear your community, please don't do it in a public forum. Defending who I am gets quite exhausting.

Last I checked, her husband (allegedly a psychologist) runs a clinic that "treats" gay men by making them straight. I cannot confirm the rumor that the clinic receives government subsidies for their work.

No matter the angle for Bachmann's position, I'm thinking it's one that aggrandizes her popularity or her pocketbook. Or both.
