What's wrong with a little fun on the golf course?
Just to prove that no good deed goes unpunished, Coon Rapids High School senior Andrew Vold scored a hole in one on the course at Majestic Oaks in Ham Lake during a fundraising event, took home a $5,000 prize--and lost his place on his golf team.

Instead of just blowing off the hole-in-one prize as the moral equivalent of winning the lottery, the Minnesota State High School League put its foot down. And not because he pocketed the cash.

Instead, Vold wasn't allowed to finish his season because MSHSL rules state:

During the high school season a student may not participate as a member of a team or as an individual competitor in non-school sponsored games, meets, tournaments or contests, in the same sport.

So here's a kid who's thinking beyond his own nose, taking part in a fundraiser, having some fun, and the scolds tell him to take a seat.

The good news: He might be bale to pay tuition when he starts Gustavus Adolphus College in the fall.
