Bill Pulkrabek dodges felony charges in alleged domestic assault
Washington County Commissioner Bill Pulkrabek, arrested last week for allegedly choking his girlfriend and dragging her down a flight of stairs by her hair, won't face felony charges.![]()
Pulkrabek won't face felony charges.
Ramsey County Attorney John Choi made the announcement late yesterday, and said the case has been referred to a city attorney for misdemeanor charges instead.
The alleged abuse happened at the Woodbury home of Brian LeClair, a former adviser for Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Pulkrabek, credited with helping launch Rep. Michele Bachmann's political career, has been living there while working out a divorce.
"Our prosecutors thoroughly reviewed the evidence presented to us by police and determined that there is insufficient evidence to bring a felony charge in this case," Choi said. "However, our prosecutors believe that a city attorney should consider bringing a misdemeanor charge in this case, and we have been informed that will happen."
