The Minneapolis tornado struck May 22.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has already awarded Minneapolis $16.33 million to help pay for tornado damage to public property, but that's where it's drawing the line.

Private businesses, homeowners, and renters found out yesterday they got stiffed by the agency. As bad as the damage was from the May 22 twister, it wasn't severe enough to merit FEMA's help.

"The combined capabilities of the state, affected local governments, and voluntary agencies" have enough resources to handle recovery from the storm, the agency said in a statement.

This is a tough pill to swallow in a neighborhood long down at the heels from unemployment and poverty, and now suffering at the hands of unscrupulous landlords, so Mayor R.T. Rybak says he's going to plead the city's case to President Barack Obama in person next week, to see if something can be worked out.

In the meantime, cleanup and recovery continues, thanks to public employees and volunteers. MinneapolisTornado.Info's Super Saturday brought in thousands of pounds of food and other supplies.

Previously:

Below are two maps Rybak included in his original request for aid from the president. The first shows property damage along the path of the tornado through north Minneapolis. The second shows concentrations of poverty in Minneapolis, overlaid with the twister's destruction zone.

Did any of you see the news on channel 9 last night?   They were on the street interviewing these victims after FEMA's inspection.People are directly blaming Obama for the failure of FEMA."We voted for him, and this is how he treats us"?Is the black community's honeymoon with Obama over?

When you rely on government, your bound to get burned.

Obama had Bin Laden shot in the eye.   Obama passed Universal Health Care.  Obama saved the auto industry.   Please name one thing Republicans have accomplished in the past 10 years that equals Obama's incomplete and brief list of accomplishments.   I've asked you to do this a few times but I know you won't answer because republicans haven't accomplished anything.  My guess is black people will vote for Obama because he's an awesome president that gets crap done while the Republican party is the party of stupid  racists.  95% of black people can't be wrong after all.

P.S. It is amazing how stupid and uninformed you are.  If you think the private sector is so so great why don't you look up how the insurance companies treated the people of New Orleans after Bush and the Republicans screwed up and nearly destroyed that city.

Had to post on this one, because we ran the "reply" string out.OK, so you say;"Obama came into office in the middle of an economic crisis, he had to spend to get out of it.   His only mistake was not spending enough"Obama spent TWICE as much as the federal government was taking in back in 2009.  How much would have been enough MB?  Maybe maxing out another credit card would have fixed the debt/economic problem?  Unemployment numbers went up. What did he fix?  Foreclosures continued.  What did he fix?  And you say; "My point of view is backed by Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman"    (Adolf Hitler won a Nobel Prize) (Barack Obama also won one, and he now has started more wars)  Don't you think Nobel has lost all credibility by now?Paul Krugmen himself said;"The president’s proposal isn’t perfect, by a long shot. My own view is that while the spending controls on Medicare he proposed are exactly the right way to go, he’s probably expecting too much payoff in the near term. And over the longer run, I believe that we’ll need modestly higher taxes on the middle class as well as the rich to pay for the kind of society we want."Tax the middle class Krugman says  You can find Krugman's words at:  "Who's serious now - NYT"

Obama did not save the auto industry, Dipshit Bush did.Headlines from the Huffingtonpost in 2008(hopefully this source if liberal enough for you to believe what you read)"Obama Commends Bush For Auto Bailouts"and

"Republicans Bash Bush Over Auto Bailout"

Something Bush did that was good.  Hmmm.Bush created the - Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D)Seniors love it!  And it's fully funded (for now)

And yes MB, I give kudos to Obama, for shooting bin Laden in the face!  His one, great accomplishment that we can all rally behind.

Sure shoot the messenger. I didn't say it!  The blacks they interviewed said it!There you go lying again.

from "politico"12/19/08President George W. Bush stepped in Friday to keep America's auto industry afloat, announcing a $17.4 billion bailout for GM and Chrysler."If we were to allow the free market to take its course now, it would almost certainly lead to disorderly bankruptcy," Bush said at the White House, in remarks carried live by the national broadcast networks. "In the midst of a financial crisis and a recession, allowing the U.S. auto industry to collapse is not a responsible course of action. The question is how we can best give it a chance to succeed."Bush said that "bankruptcy now would lead to a disorderly liquidation of American auto companies.""My economic advisers believe that such a collapse would deal an unacceptably painful blow to hardworking Americans far beyond the auto industry. It would worsen a weak job market and exacerbate the financial crisis," he said. "It could send our suffering economy into a deeper and longer recession."

Ya "Obama saved the auto industry"  You sure about that liar!

"Obama had Bin laden shot in the eye" He was supported to, you low expectation having motherfucker.  What the hell kind of low life piece of shit would he be if he had not made that decision.I agree, yes "Obama had Bin laden shot in the eye".  Exactly per the plans of George W Bush!Obama announced the withdrawal of troops in Iraq, exactly per the the Bush Doctrine and outline. Obama announced the withdrawal of troops in Afghanistan exactly per Bush Doctrine and outline.I didn't realize Obama had his own "war doctrine".  The War Doctrines and engagement outlines were never rewritten by Obama.   Bush's plan, Bush's plan, Bush's plan. So, back to you original argument of Obama did this, this, and this.He did ONLY two one thing you claimed.  1. Passed Obamacare AGAINST the Majority of Americans wishes.  And when did they say this would take effect?  2013 after the 2012 elections.  What was the great emergency?  He did do one VERY IMPORTANT thing you forgot to mention.2. Spent more money in 2 years than GWB did in 8 years and Obama increased the national debt by 40 % in only 2 years.  Oh ya; how about closing Gitmo as Obama promisedFailure, Failure, Failure!  I can go on and on and on....

If Bush did the auto bailout why is Obama running on how successful it is while Republicans are still stupidly yelling at him for it?     Bush had over 6 years to get Bin Laden, he didn't do it.   Obama made a campaign issue out of the fact that he would go into Pakistan, without their permission, and kill Bin Laden if he was there.   McCain and Clinton said they wouldn't.   That was one reason I voted for Obama.    Finally Bush came into office with a surplus and turned it into debt.   Obama came into office in the middle of an economic crisis, he had to spend to get out of it.   His only mistake was not spending enough.   My point of view is backed by Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman, your point of view is backed by former junkies Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck.  That kind of clear thinking is why Tea Party Republicans haven't accomplished anything in 10 years.   I'm still waiting on your one thing that rivals the killing of Bin Laden.  I notice you refuse to go on an on about that.   Finally, only an idiot would keep every single one of his campaign promises.   An adult makes decisions based on facts and can admit when they are wrong, that's why Obama is a great president.   An idiot never changes his mind, that's why Republicans suck at government they can't admit when they are wrong.
