James Knuuttila faces 10th drunk driving arrest

Knuuttila was already scheduled for a trial this fall for another durnk driving arrest.

James Knuuttila, a 62-year-old Wisconsin man, was arrested last week on suspicion of -- among other things -- drunk driving. This is the 10th time Knuuttila has faced such an arrest, according to the Duluth News Tribune, meaning he's either a slow learner or just really doesn't care.

Perhaps a little of both?

His latest predicament started when State Patrol officers in Bayfield County, Wis., first responded to a report of a crash Friday around 2:40 p.m. Officers arrived to find Knuuttila had just driven his car into a ditch.

His glassy eyes and the whole ditch routine seemed to tell the story: Knuuttilla was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and booked in the Bayfield County jail.

He was also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, jumping bail, carrying an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle, and having no proof of insurance.

The DNT reports that Knuuttilla has been convicted of seven of those drunk driving charges in the past, and was already set to go to trial for another in September.

His first court date for last week's incident is scheduled for July 11.
