Sen. Michael Jungbauer denies climate science, and faking his resume

jungbauer screencap.jpg
Sen. Mike Jungbauer, climate expert.
State Sen. Michael Jungbauer says he's smarter than 98 percent of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to studying climatology, and dismisses their work on climate change and global warming as alarmist nonsense.

What gives the Republican from East Bethel such authority? A college degree and a master's program that don't exist, and the blessings of a front group for the oil and gas industries.

Don Shelby used his perch at MinnPost to eviscerate Jungbauer's junk science:

The senator says he holds a degree from Moody Bible Institute, but he doesn't -- it's a two-year certificate from a school that trains ministers. He says he's getting a master's degree in environmental policy at Metropolitan State University, but no such program exists. And he brags about his climate expertise gleaned from a "tropospherical chemistry class" that he never took.

ipcc hockey stick.jpg
Wikipedia
Scientific data in the IPCC's "hockey stick chart" shows the Earth's warming.
All of which has fully prepared Jungbauer to have studied "all 13 disciplines" of science used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change -- something no real scientist on the panel would ever claim to have done. And he presents himself as an expert public speaker on climate science for the Heartland Group, without mentioning that Heartland is funded by Exxon-Mobil, the Koch Brothers and the Scaife Foundation.

What isn't fiction in his biography?

The truth is that Jungbauer was ordained by Christian Motor Sports International out of Gilbert, Ariz. His Senate biography says the organization provides "chapel services, pastoral care, outreach and Christian fellowship at car races, car shows, cruise-ins and tractor pulls.

Now that's a guy whose climate science expertise we can all get behind.

Or maybe not.

Global Warming is nonsense! Some of the same scientists called it "global cooling" in the 70's.

Remember the Ozone scare of the late 1980's?  The same scientists said it was caused by freon and CFC.  So we listened to this crowd, and almost completely banned the use of freon and CFC.  20+ years later, the ozone hole got bigger.  Sounds like it turned out to be a extortion method of DuPont.  Hmmm.  Shouldn't we ignore these morons (the bad scientists), because they have continually have proven themselves wrong?  Flip flop the message.  Losers who can't remember yesterday, all jump on board because of the desire to belong to something.  LOOSER looking for a purpose in life!

Oh I get it, attack the messenger.  Focus not on Jungbauer's message, but displace the criticism on Jungbauer and his lack of degrees.  I wonder if Hart has a masters of journalism.  If not, everything he says must be shit right?   Classy Alinsky method you have there.

And Don Shelby?Did you see him get get heckled at the science fair.  Crowd turned against him.Mr. agenda himself.

Believing climate change is most definately a man-made phenomena is as bold as believing hart van denberg is the lamb of god. Ignorance must be bliss.

Nice exposure of a pathetic fraud, Hart.

Do residents of Anoka County just burrow in their dens watching Dancing With the Stars and pop their fat heads out of the ground every once in a while to fill in a circle next to the letter "R"?

Jesus Christ, people, put just a little bit of thought into who you vote for. This guy isn't qualified to be a shift leader at Burger King.

The last 4 letters in kirk the conservative jerk are jerk.   I just made an equally deep point as you.

Sen. Michael Jungbauer and kirk represent the immense brain power of Tea Party Republicans.   They don't need no fancy degrees from no elitist big city colleges to know global climate change is a scam.    Why would you trust 99% of scientists when the scientists getting paid by the oil companies assure us that everything is fine?

Hi, Kirk--Here are some problems with your statements.

1. It's spelled "loser," not "looser."2. Climate science, like other technical fields, has advanced dramatically since the '70s and '80s, so any faults you see with the science of those days can't be applied to today.3. The more accurate and more accepted term is now "Climate Change," not "Global Warming." Deniers like yourself prefer "global warming" because it's easy for you to say things like, "Wow, it's really cold outside today; so much for global warming, huh?" The term "Climate Change" is more accurate because it describes the way that even small changes in the atmosphere can have drastic effects on weather patterns (such as increased droughts, wildfires, and tornadoes).4. The author of this article never claimed to have an advanced degree that she/he doesn't have, as Mr. Jungbauer did (you really love your false equivalencies, don't you?)

Thanks for reading. I hope this constructive criticism helps you to be less of an ill-informed ass-hat in your future posts.

Oh please. If this guy had a D in front of his name you'd be calling for his head. Conservatism and party loyalty doesn't mean carrying water for obvious asshats.

When you say "this guy"; you're talking about yourself in the third person right?

So why is it that Minneapolis representatives, want to absorb parts of Anoka, Co with the 2012 redistricting plan?  Funny, how the flight from democrat areas continue.  Must be the array of good ideas.

Just like all the "scientists" claiming "climate change" is real, are all on a different payroll.  Government grants!   I know someone who was interning for a Sea World as a biological research scientists.  Her research showed the contrary to what the government grant was trying to prove. Her research was thrown out.  Funny huh.See the 99% on the government payroll through grants also shouldn't be trusted. Your rules right?

Guy, the jerk is totally immune to logic, reason and facts. he will berate you for calling him names, while calling you names in the same sentence. Irony and hypocracy are lost on him. he rants and raves but has no valid point of view and when proven wrong(which happens often but he never admits it)he just continues to rant.

Oh Guy; excuses, excuses, excuses!

Don't you think you should wash my ass-hat before you continue to wear it?

See people, how in the end, Guy chose to focus on nothing but me.  I backed him into the corner.  And like a dog, he chose to bite.  His knowledge of what he professes, got him nowhere. No knowledge, just talking points  So no wonder he had to discredit me.

Saul Alinsky - Rule for Radicals RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.

Not "conservative media" Guy.  Liberal writings have taught me what I need to know about the lefts political agenda and methods.  Well that, and being a hard core liberal for the first half of my life.

Attack my spelling?  What does that prove?  Can you get more petty and pathetic? you say:"Climate science, like other technical fields, has advanced dramatically since the '70s and '80s, so any faults you see with the science of those days can't be applied to today."

OK, so their more accurate today.  Let say "the science hasn't changed in the last 5 years.  Show me where as the "experts" said it would suddenly get cooler thus having to change the name.  They were very clear in 2004-2006.  They clearly said there would be a INCREASE in temperature year after year.   5 years ago, you fools said we would "have to act now or the world would flood, and we would burn up just going outside.  What happened to that.  Of course, you people believe this stuff like a religion.  It doesn't matter if one half of their claims disagrees with the other half.  Blind faith right?  Forever changing message. You say: "such as increased droughts, wildfires, and tornadoes"Well, that is just a flat out lie and I will use you own words to show just that. You just said their science has improved in the last 20 years.  So with that understanding, wouldn't the records you comparing to also be flawed, thus implicating a false comparison on your behalf?  You said the science was junk back then, then so are the records you're comparing to right?. I know the "Gore God" leaves you fools in the dark, and that is a shame.Hey GuyWhat human event caused the dust bowl. What human event caused the ice age. What human event caused the sea levels not to rise as they predicted they would? What human event caused the polar bear population to increase in the last 6 years? (despite the claims of idiots like Leo D)What human event caused the polar ice cap to increase ice in the last 2 years?Remember these things are all "human caused" , and not natural cycles pertaining to something like solar flairs.Does your religion have a chapter in the "Book of Gore" explaining that.Sounds like everything your Gods have claimed would happen, did nothing at all or the opposite.  Could you look more stupid?  Can you just admit you have been scammed. There is one thing that I am certain of.  You fools sure are certain in your science is filled with uncertainty.

Who wears the "ass-hat" now.I understand, you fools are running with talking points.  Thus, not being able to debate.  First thing you do, through the person your debating with off guard, and onto defense. ( by attacking my spelling)  So transparent...

99% of all climate scientists on government payroll? Does this include the ones that were getting research grants during the Bush administration? Because the science hasn't changed all that much in the past few years...unless...BUSH WAS ACTUALLY AL GORE IN DISGUISE OMG.

well, yeah, I suppose I should wash it...wait...what does that even mean?

If you want to call making 50 half-baked psuedo-points that fail to condense into any sort of meaningful argument "backing me into a corner," then fine. But if I were to sit here pointing out how backwards your ideas are, I'd be here all day. Therefore, the only reply I could make was a personal one. And let's be honest, your little schtick is all about baiting people into making personal attacks on you anyway. You get off on it. So your welcome.

Since kirk wants to wear an asshat I will spring a logic puzzle on his tiny mind. Global climate change can either be real or not real.   In response to this problem we can either do something or nothing.    Most experts agree the proper solution to global climate change is to invest money in technology that will produce more energy with less pollution.   So we could follow kirk's line of think and do nothing.   If we do nothing and global climate change is real the world ends.   If we do nothing and global climate change is not real we maybe save some money but we still have to make members of the Saudi Royal Family and Russia rich.  Maybe we make China rich because they invented new awesome solar panels or something that make oil and gas worthless.      If we do the sensible solution and fund green energy programs we invent the new technology.  Then it doesn't matter if global climate change is real or not.   Investing in energy technology tends to be a pretty wise investment.   If kirk new anything about capitalism he'd know the United States might make a few dollars inventing the next big energy technology.    Too bad Republicans think so small all the time.   It's pathetic how they slow and hurt our country by not investing in the future.    kirk is right about one thing, there will be a test on this in 2012, I hope people grow a brain and throw out the resume faking science denying cavemen that are holding back our country.

kirk does do this professionally.  You can catch his act at the bus station.  He makes a little less than $30,000 a year in spare change.   Catch his act at 7:00 p.m.  entitled "Obama and Saul Alinsky eat black babies for Satan(Nancy Pelosi) part 11"   City Pages called it "better than most Kevin James movies."

I see nothing wrong with pointing out your dire lack of basic spelling and grammar skills. It shows that the information on which you base your wild rantings comes almost exclusively from television and radio and not from a measured study of a variety of print sources. You are a spastic full-grown toddler too maladjusted to wean himself off the teat of conservative media.
