Michele Bachmann says God's calling her to run. Republicans? Not so much

God's given her the all-clear.

Because right now, she's acting like a presidential candidate, as opposed to a biker chick. And she says God's on her side.

"Well, every decision that I make, I pray about, as does my husband, and I can tell you, yes, I've had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do."

We assume that her campaign team has now been similarly anointed, because that wasn't so clear a few weeks ago.

But God moves in mysterious ways, and Bachmann isn't exactly burning down the popularity polls.

The latest CNN national survey of Republican voters shows that just 7 percent of them would support her in the primaries. That puts her in seventh place. Could be worse, though.

And imagine how Tim Pawlenty feels. Of course, he's got his own problems.

A new survey from Public Policy Polling also shows Bachmann in fifth with 11 percent -- and Pawlenty 6th with 10 percent.

Still, the whole God endorsement thing worked out pretty well when Bachmann first ran for Congress, so maybe there's hope.
