Rolling Stone eviscerates Michele Bachmann

Rolling Stone: Don't laugh at Bachmann, or the joke's on you.
Rolling Stone has uncorked a hit job on Rep. Michele Bachmann that suggests just how utterly buffaloed the national press has become by her presidential campaign.

Just today, for example, the New York Times devotes dozens of uncritical column inches to her mothering abilities. The Washington Post has admired her posture. And the Los Angeles Times approves of her empathetic nature--based on what she tells Sean Hannity.

But reporter Matt Taibbi hasn't been drinking the same Kool-Aid--his was spiked with bile.

And he targets Bachmann, "brandishing her pearls and her ageless, unblemished neckline and her perfect suburban orthodontics," with all the finesse of a very pissed off bull in a china shop. She speaks with:

A pattern of God-speaks-directly-to-me fundamentalism mixed with pathological, relentless, conscienceless lying. ... She is at once the most entertaining and the most dangerous kind of liar, a turbocharged cross between a born bullshit artist and a religious fanatic, for whom lying to the infidel is a kind of holy duty.

Liberals will clap their hands and nod their heads at what Rolling Stone has accomplished here. Conservatives, on the other hand, will read this stuff, roll their eyes, and chalk it up to further proof of an evil liberal conspiracy to victimize the poor, defenseless Christian lady.

But they know the same thing Taibbi knows: Bachmann wins elections, and the more you laugh at her, the stronger she gets.

Lazy, sloppy, inaccurate reporting by Matt Taibbi. He stole virtually everything from local writers with no attribution (including much from City Pages) and smeared Stillwater without ever leaving the comfort of his East Coast ivory tower. Jerk.

http://t.co/YtPyEag Ripple in Stillwater predicted this would happen just last weekend: http://www.rippleinstillwater....

I'm not a big fan of Bachmann's but this RS article is a little over the top.  Plus, the "reporter" calls Anoka "tiny".

Matt Taibbi is not a reporter but a far left polemicist. He writes in Rolling Stone for asinine lefty acid heads like himself. Political pornography from anti-Semite Matt Taibbi only eviscerates the radical left..

Hart wrote:" Bachmann wins elections".

Yeah, kind of. It took her three tries to win a simple majority in a district that was tailor-made for Republicans. She's not popular state-wide, and she currently gets single-digit support from her own Party for her Presidential run. Only 24% of MN Republicans think that she should run for President, after all.

She raises money very well, but even with all of that money her margins of victory are hardly impressive, considering she has a R +6 district.

Rolling Stone still exists? Who knew? Interesting that Kirk thinks RS is so trenchant that women will be influenced by a caricature in one issue for "centuries".

The only good thing about this whole deal is that I truly believe that Bachmann is one of the last of a dying breed.  She's an Elmer Gantry in a pantsuit- a huckster of the old American Midwest.  She's a product of a time that's passed long ago and is only held onto by a slim group of people who've convinced themselves that things were better "back in the day".

And just so everybody's clear, this statement:"We need to get back to America's roots as a God-loving, God-fearing nation!"is actually coded language for:"We need to get a good old fashioned theocracy in place here!"

She has ABSOLUTELY no problem with America instituting laws and policies that put us more in line with repressive religious regimes in the Middle East- She just wants our repressive regime to be Christian instead of those "dirty, dirty Moo-slawms".

Dying breed?    The sanest person in the Republican presidential race is a Mormon who is forced to disavow the only thing he has ever accomplished, the Massachusetts Health Care System.    You think Republicans are getting less crazy?     How mentally ill are the tea party idiots that they force Romney to run away from providing the best health care in the country?     If the sanest person in your group is a Mormon you are hanging out with truly mentally ill people.   Our country is seriously screwed if the Republicans ever get full power again.  Bush nearly drove us into a depression, what do you think President Palin or Bachmann would do?   Lucky for us President Palin would quit after a year or so so she could get her own reality show but I think you get my point.

Awesome!  A character drawing portraying her as Joan of Arc.Now Michele will be looked up to, and admired by women for centuries to come. You fools...

"conspiracy to victimize the poor"  Ya, just like Dayton and and him not allowing a legislative special session to pass a temporary budget keeping the Minnesota Government open.Dayton says: "Shut it down!  Screw the poor!"Oh wait, that's not a "conspiracy". It's happening right before our eyes.

Ha! That's one of the funniest things I've read all day. A special session wouldn't do anything other than offer Republicans more time to posture and try to place blame for their inability to compromise. Each Republican should be fired from office for failing to do their jobs.

Does everything you write become a rant about Mark Dayton or does it just seem that way?

kirk is in love with Mark Dayton, he calls him the "silver fox".

I wouldn't call anything Kirk posts "writing".  It's more like some sort of court-mandated therapy session.  Unfortunately for all of us, we don't get paid to suffer through his delusions and incessant whining.

Wow, their caricature actually makes her look less demonic than in real life.
