Socorro Eaton punches her kid, calls her a liar in front of classmates and teacher
| Socorro Eaton lost control and terrified her child. |
The pair showed up late for class, with the daughter hauling a bag of art supplies she thought she needed that day. But when Eaton heard the teacher say the class wasn't working on the project that day, she flew into a rage.
As the teacher and students watched in what must have been utter horror, the mother began screaming and swearing at her child, then clenched her fist and hit the little girl in the face and chest, the Pioneer Press reports.
Hurt and terrified, the child ran from the classroom as her mother yelled after her, "Get your (expletive) back in the room, or I will beat you in front of the class."
Once police got a chance to interview the child, she told them the school beating was part of a grim week that started with a belt-whipping that left visible welts on her back the following day.
Was the South St. Paul woman remorseful? It doesn't sound like it. At Ramsey County jail, Eaton was angry at her little girl and promised to "beat her (expletive) good' for getting her arrested."
Eaton's been charged with malicious punishment of a child. She's still in Ramsey County jail.
Thankfully.
