Tim Pawlenty: Twitter Tough Guy

The Courage To Stand -- on Twitter.
Tim Pawlenty didn't have the "Courage To Stand" against Mitt Romney and Obamneycare during the Republican debate, and apparently he knows it.

So instead of just waiting to let his humiliatingly weak moment on CNN blow over, like his campaign spokesman said he would do, some genius in his campaign decided that Pawlenty ought to keep the story alive by trying to be a tough guy while hiding behind his Twitter account.

Maybe this is what his "Tell The Truth" campaign is really all about.

Then he retreated to the friendly confines of Fox News, again with Romney nowhere in sight, and talked tough again.

"I don't think you can prosecute the political case against President Obama if you are a co-conspirator in one of the main charges against the president on a political level. And so, it really puts your nominee, if that's who it turns out to be, in a very difficult spot."

Awesome strategy. If he's president, this is how he'll cope with recalcitrant Middle East dictators and Mexican narco-traffickers, too: Just sit in the White House situation room and lob insults via Twitter and Fox News. For inspiration, he can watch that moment in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the Frenchman leans over the castle wall and yells, "I fart in your general direction."

What a rotten week this guy is having. First his debate performance gets panned, then he gets glitter bombed, and now this. It's time to change the media strategy, Tough Guy Tim.
