Tornado warning over for Twin Cities area [UPDATE]
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen issued a tornado warning for the suburbs south and east of the Twin Cities at about 2:45 p.m., after radar indicated that a storm capable of producing a tornado moved through Rosemount, St. Paul Park, Inver Grove Heights, Eagan and Sunfish and St. Paul. But the warning is over.
MPR's Laura McCallum tweeted about a wall cloud visible in downtown St. Paul, with sirens going off, a short time after the warning was issued.

UPDATE: Sirens later went off in Anoka. But it no looks as though the worst of the storm has now moved into Wisconsin.
In the meantime, a general severe weather and tornado watch is in effect for the Twin Cities area, and surrounding counties, meaning that thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into the night for the Twin Cities area and neighboring areas of Wisconsin. Tornadoes are possible, along with big hail, heavy rain, damaging winds and the like.
The red area denotes a tornado warning. The yellow area is inder a tornado watch.
