Marcus Bachmann picks out Michele's clothes, has a good sense of women's style

Political observers and gay bloggers are chuckling this morning over a tidbit unearthed from a 2006 Star Tribune profile that has taken on new meaning in light of all the recent "Is Marcus Bachmann gay?" talk.

Apparently, Marcus Bachmann acted as his wife's personal stylist, shopping for her clothes in advance of Dick Cheney's visit, because he has a "good sense of style," Michele brags.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Seriously, these are actual quotes from an actual story headlined "Congresswoman makes no apologies for haute style" (link goes to Chicago Tribune because the Star Tribune does not maintain an archive on its website):

Shopping help comes from another quarter, as well. Before Vice President Dick Cheney's visit this past summer, Bachmann's husband, Marcus, hit the stores -- "he's got a good sense of style" -- and came home with "a sleek, simple hourglass dress with a yoke collar in winter white." He even bought a matching coat and shoes. "I just slipped it on."

Oh, and in case you want the "Bachmann look," here is how Michele describes it:

Bachmann, 50, describes her style as "classic with a snap." "I dress fairly simply," she said. "I like clean lines. I like solid colors. But I like an outfit to have a little kick."

You jerks in the lamestream media just won't stop with this. My husband is not gay! Absolutely nothing this man does is gay. I can prove he isn't gay, last night we were watching some show called Drag Race or something? I can't really remember because me and God had a long conversation last night and I ended up with the worst headache. I wasn't really in the mood but suddenly I heard God yelling at me to do my wifely duties to please my husband. I didn't need my headaches to get any worse so I became the good submissive wife. Marcus and I had just started kissing when he remembered that he had promised to call this gay man he was counseling. I nearly started crying with pride at the dedication Marcus has. Do you know he spent the next 5 hours locked in his study disciplining that gay barbarian? I was deep asleep by the time he finally slipped into our bed. I love my totally straight husband! Stop the smear attacks.
