Mark Dayton's deal: Good or bad? [POLL]

Dayton says no one's happy with the deal. Are you?

Mark Dayton announced the deal to end the state shutdown by saying that no one would be happy. The Republican leaders didn't sound thrilled either.

The deal borrows money to pay for the budget, and doesn't raise taxes on anyone. It ends a two-week shutdown that had 22,000 Minnesota employees out of work, and had left highways without necessary construction and forced hikers in state parks to poop in the woods.

So, what do you think? Did Dayton have to make this deal?

I truly hope some dems refuse to pass the legislation .. The American Legislative Exchange Council AND Grover puppets are to blame. Under a $1 bn travesty budget cuts, there is a ton MORE expense to come as people turn ugly and violent over the end of any meaningful social safety net. The drugs and alcoholism will SOAR as will the overmedication of people.The Democrats know all about ALEC, yet they refuse to speak out about them and their members. I told the media and legislators about it endlessly all session long. They are just AFRAID. They thing is this: With the "compromise" things are gonna get WAY scarier on the political front. I think Dayton did the best he could, but really - he and the DFL should have called out to the CITIZENS for support and exposed the vicious game run by Tony Sutton, Tom Emmer and other ALEC members. Was the poll writer looking mostly to get in a dig at Dayton? Look at what he got out of the Republicans, and he actually did pretty well, yet a decent deal wasn't even remotely an option. I suppose that's part of why these self-selected polls are non-scientific. Not just the self-selection, but the push-poll aspect too.How about a poll that asks whether accepting the bonding bill was 1. hard for the GOP or 2. so hard for the GOP that the backbenchers will be screaming.

It's great to have an end to this retardation...it is a travesty that delaying school payments has once again been seen as a band-aid rather than what it is: an even bigger problem than the fucking budget gap. What a bunch of fucking pricks (and the greatest prick of all, T-Paw...what a joke).

It's hard to blame Mark Dayton for caring about people and the good of the state when Republicans are such a pack of uncaring animals. I hope everyone remembers that Republicans are incapable of running a government and punishes them in 2012. They lied to everyone saying they would be about jobs. Instead we get a gay marriage bill and that's it. Republicans are a disgrace in Minnesota and nationally. Republicans engage in class warfare on every level. They make sure the poor and the middle class have to pay for the mistakes of the rich. Rich people have the lowest taxes in 50 years and corporate profits are high, when is it going to trickle down you Republican liars?

Right on! The only thing the GOP did all year was gay marriages. They didn't even pass a budget that Gov. Pureheart vetoed.

They passed a budget that Dayton didn't agree with. Instead of compromising they held their position and made sure as many people as possible suffered so rich people wouldn't have to pay one more dollar in taxes. I doubt you are in the richest 2% of Minnesotans so you are just an idiot as far as I'm concerned. I'm just wondering why you think poor and middle class people have to bear the brunt of recession? How stupid are you to not realize the Bush tax cuts for the rich hurt the economy?
