The rain won't last, and the heat is here to stay.
At least we got a short break from the heat.

As some may have already noticed, heavy rains hit the Twin Cities this afternoon, causing the National Weather Service to issue a severe storm warning.

Providing the storms slow down by 1 p.m., we might be able to avoid flash flooding. But the weather service is urging mobile-home owners to evacuate just in case.

The thunderstorm warning will stay in effect until 3 p.m., and includes parts of Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties. On top of the pouring rain, we might see some hail and high winds.

This is why your life sucks right now.

As of late morning, at least 3,800 Xcel Energy customers were without power, and Xcel is bringing in extra crews.

Which brings us to more bad news.

The storm isn't going to curb the heat wave for long, so if your air conditioner just went out, you're pretty much out of luck.
