Diane Lemke, Anthony Webster: They'll remember her birthday night for a long time -- up to seven years.
A mother-son duo from Glen Fora, Wisconsin found themselves in a bit of a tight spot earlier this month.

First, the son, Anthony Webster, decided to outrun a police car with his ATV, police say. But the otherwise wonderful evening went awry when the cops showed up at Antler's Tavern (where else?) to arrest him.

Webster was hit with a baton, flashlight, pepper spray, and a Taser before one of the cops took him out with a headlock, according to charges.

For their wild bonding experience, Webster is facing multiple felonies, while mom could get stuck with a couple misdemeanors.

On Monday, he was charged with a felony for fleeing police, two felonies for battery to an officer, and two misdemeanors for resisting.

Heeeeeeeere's Lemke!
The mother, 56-year-old Diane Lemke, is also facing two misdemeanors for resisting. By all accounts, this probably wasn't the birthday she had in mind, even if she does look pretty happy in her mugshot.

The trouble began on September 3, when an officer spotted Webster cruising down the highway in an ATV.

The officer noticed the ATV's headlights were off, and tried to pull the duo over.

Instead of obeying the officer's signal, Webster sped up to 80 MPH in the 35 MPH zone, quickly disappearing from sight, according to the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

Flash forward to Antler's Tavern, where Lemke was working that night. Webster was bragging about outrunning the cop just a little too loudly, inspiring another bar patron to call police.

When police showed up to arrest him, Webster didn't have the intention of going quietly. During the scuffle, Webster hit two officers, ripping one of their uniforms in the process, before he was put him was put in a headlock, according to the Telegram. Lemke attempted to jump in too, but was brushed away with a baton.

If convicted, Webster could face more than seven years in prison. A small price to pay for a memorable birthday with mom.

Note: This article was changed from its original publication. Contrary to initial reports, Lemke was not on the ATV with Webster, she was working at Antler's bar.

I would really like to address the author of this article to some degree. This type of journalism, while funny to you(author), is extremely damaging to those you are carelessly writing about. I assume you come from some area of privilege, and take pleasure in attacking the poor working class in this country. As a nation, we have seemed to be embracing meanness, and are rapidly loosing our humanity.

I know these people you have written about, and your attitude about them is so far from what and who they are. She (Diane) has always been hard-working, fingers to the bone, poor. And she has been severely victimized here. The shocking thing to me is that journalists have gone out of their way to not even consider police brutality here.

What you, and other journalists, are playing into, and promoting is class warfare. And guess whose winning. Not the working poor. As journalism continues to get more Fox News and National Enquirer like, the poor in this country certainly can't count on the press to expose facts.

You, the author, probably have come from a privileged background and have no knowledge of poverty. How lucky you were to have been born so lucky. It has nothing to do with integrity. Most of who and what we are is luck. Ms. Webster's just not lucky like you.

This article is inaccurate: Lemke was never on the ATV. And she was not celebrating her birthday, she was working at Antler's Tavern all night. Webster went to her work after fleeing the police (that is accurate), the police were tipped off, and according to a large group of witnesses he was not aggressive towards police - officer Ohmstead pepper-sprayed him when he had not hit or punched or swung at anyone (as punishment for running perhaps) and then proceeded to beat him with a baton and a flashlight before tazing him. Lemke intervened because the police were beating her son without cause. Think about it: in what scenario would it take two officers pepper spray, beating with multiple blunt objects and then tazing to take down one man?

This article is incredibly inaccurate. To start: Ms. Lemke was never on the ATV that evening, and information in police reports and prior articles clarifies this. She was working that evening at Antler's Bar, not celebrating her birthday.Even though it is easy to make fun of "hicks" for doing "hick things" - journalism still requires that you check facts. I gathered the information below for the Eau Claire Leader Telegram, who also printed inaccurate information. Article: Woman, son fight police after successful getaway(http://www.leadertelegram.com/... Wow, I think journalism in the United States (even supposed liberal rags like this one) have all modeled the standards after the National Enquirer. This author is setting himself and his employer up for a lawsuit. Too bad mug shots can't go with that. Learn some ethics or please get out of journalism.

Facts printed in the article "Anthony Webster arrested for fighting cops with his mom on her birthday" are inaccurate enough to constitute defamation of character and libel. I have contacted the author and editor about this via email, but also feel the public should have access to the information I sent them.To start: Ms. Lemke was never on the ATV that evening, and information in police reports and prior articles clarifies this. She was working that evening at Antler's Bar, not celebrating her birthday.Additionally, I gathered the information below for the Eau Claire Leader Telegram, who also printed inaccurate information (though this story scewed the incident even further). I am hoping they print an investigative story on it, though my hopes aren't too high.

nice lies, get your story straight i was 15 ft away and for one webster is charged with fleeing not both your tard so go write your lies in your journal, get your story straight bud. The police officer ohlmstead sprayed tony in the face with mase to start everything when he never resisted he even put his arm in front of his mom telling her everything was ok and in mid sentense it all started with the officer performs some malpractice and sprays him in the face and then him and his partner beat the hell out of him. Why dont you get the pictures of his face and put them on here? A maglite is a deadly weapon which can cause deadly force never in this 10-15 minute beat down did they try to arrest webster and never did he show a sign of harming them, he never punched ohlmstead in the face either, those two little girl cops closed in on him in boxing stances from about 10-15 ft out after masing beating with a baton and tazing him and smacked him in the head with a maglite multiple times, go on youtube type in TheSquible, and theres clips of him getting golfed in the head with a maglite as he layed there limp, not a movement. And diane is about 100 lbs and didnt ever lay her hand on a cop those ego tri[ psychos just decided its legal for them to hit women with a fricken baton and punch them, kind of funny that police officers have the highest domestic abuse out of any field. Really shows with the Rusk County Gustapo. Can someone inform Obama that hitler is in rusk county wisconsin and beating people down for nothing chances are next time he's gona shoot someone. I like how you didnt add that anthony webster has more then a handful of witnesses that are testifying against the Rusk County Gustapo
