Bradlee Dean needs a new car wash.
​Under fire from boycotters and forced to answer uncomfortable questions from the press, the Edina Car Wash has decided to end its relationship with Bradlee Dean's "You Can Run But You Cannot Hide."

Last week, when City Pages reached the car wash manager to ask about the Facebook boycott, she said that yes, Dean's little fundraising teams come out every few months. But, she went on, everyone had the wrong idea about these guys.

In a a statement posted to its website yesterday, Edina Car Wash admits that it was probably them who had the wrong idea.

"While we find no fault with a Biblically based Christian message, we do take issue with the lack of respect Mr. Dean personally has shown on occasion when communicating that Christian message he claims to support," the statement says. "Therefore, effective today, we are no longer going to allow the organization that Mr. Dean heads to use our facility."

Okay, so "lack of respect" is a bit underwhelming when it comes to some of the stuff Dean's said, including -- most infamously, and the line that he's suing everyone over --  when he expressed something like envy in saying that Muslims show their faith by executing gay people.

​When City Pages asked about Bradlee Dean last week, the manager at Edina Car Wash, who declined to give her name, said Dean's bad reputation was unfair. The manager said Dean's lawsuits against MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and the Minnesota Independent's Andy Birkey -- both of whom happen to be gay journalists whose crime was quoting Dean word-for-word -- would help clear Dean's name.

"The group that they're upset with," she said, referring to Dean's ministry, "was misquoted, which, they're currently in a lawsuit that they're trying to get it retracted."
But something's changed pretty deep in the Edina Car Wash mindset since then, thanks to the boycott of Gabe Aderhold, the 17-year-old who started the "Boycott Edina Car Wash" Facebook page. Aderhold spotted Dean's "street teams," made up of young fundraisers, outside the Edina Car Wash and decided to start the boycott.

In its statement, Edina Car Wash says Aderhold unfairly accused them of sympathizing with Dean's most extreme opinions, but admitted that his pressure forced their hand:

Mr. Aderhold alleges that because Mr. Dean is the founder and principle of "You Can Run But You Cannot Hide" and that he promotes "hate" toward gay and lesbian persons we are guilty of the same by association. We have supported this organization, along with many others, but not Mr. Bradlee Dean personally. We have taken these accusations seriously and in no way do we hate or promote hatred of any people groups.
Minnesota Independent tracked down Aderhold after the announcement, and he told them he hadn't expected to succeed so quickly at getting Dean's team banned.

"I was a little surprised actually," Aderhold said. "But I think he saw where we are coming from so I respect that final decision."

The number of businesses that will allow Dean to raise money has narrowed a bit, and though he might not appreciate it this morning, in a way that Dean ought to appreciate as most American -- the First Amendment, capitalism, and a bit of public shaming.

How many of you knew that you are bullying a bunch of kids?  Didn't the pigs pulling your strings tell you that?   Bullying kids!  Now that speaks VOLUMES for your character!

See, now if one of these YCRBYCHI kids should happen to commit suicide because of the affectionate homosexual bullies, who's fault would it be?  Can they sue?  Would it be you getting sued?How does it feel to be part of a mob of gay bullies?

per your elephant type memory, and knowing of the type of kirk drives, which he stated many months ago, you should easily be able to recite the "making fun of dead kids" comment kirk had made.

Here's what Kirk (who's most probably you logged in as not kirk for this comment) had to say in a comments on articles discussing gay teens commiting suicide as a result of bullying:

"Because the liars (lawyers), want us all tobelieve, this activity only happened because they chose to take on a lifestylein which GREATLY increased their chances of getting aids"

or

"I bet anyone $100, this lawsuit amounts in nothing more thanthe gay community frivolously wasting the tax payers dollar. Dinks!"

So you tell me...are these comments being made by a person capable of compassion and sympathy or are they made by someone who is insensitive, ignorant, and filled with hate?

According to Kirk, being gay is a lifestyle choice and if they didn't commit suicide they would probably just get aids anyway.  Did I read that correctly?  And gay teens commiting suicide is frivolous, right Kirk?  Frivolous, as in these kids lives were of no purpose or value and the only thing that is going to come of their deaths is wasting the tax payer dollar?  Right Kirk?

So you tell me, genius, how is Kirk not making fun of dead kids with comments like these?  In fact, I'd say that he is deriding dead kids more than he's making fun of them.  And, in case you didn't know, derision is worse than making fun.

And how do I remember that kirk (you) drives a Saturn.  I remember it probably because he didn't say it many months ago...but the primary reason I remember it is because I've never read a more whimperingly pathetic comment than the one where he describes how he brings his garbage to work in his piece of shit Saturn because he can't afford trash removal.  And also how he relies on hand-outs so he can keep his so-called pretty nice house in a pretty nice neighborhood.

You see, I find that funny.  Not because I think there's anything funny about being poor and scratching to get by.  I think it's funny that someone who probably has a very low income is constantly complaining about his tax dollar...I mean, how much can Kirk possibly contribute to the bottom line?  I doubt his bumper sticker empire contributes anything to his AGI.  What do you think Kirk's effective tax rate is?  If its over 15% I'll pay for one year's worth of internet service and garbage removal at Kirk's house.  It's also funny because Kirk is a fraud and a dupe.  The people who he is so desperate to defend on here would never even acknowledge his existence in real life and he knows it...which is why he comes on here to, literally, copy and paste their ideas.  He admires the attention they receive, their wealth, their relative articulation and their power.  Kirk does not have, nor will he ever have, any of these things and deep down he knows it.  What's worse, we all know it too.  Well...everyone except you.

And you sticking up for Kirk makes you just as fucking despicably ignorant as he is and I will extend you the same invitation that I've extended to Kirk on multiple occasions.  To wit: I would gladly meet up with you and/or Kirk any time that you would like so I can say these things to either one of your stupid fucking faces.  Kirk hasn't taken me up on it...but, obamaspeaks, you have moxy and I bet you aren't a complete chickenshit like Kirk.  What do you say?

Your comment about labeling those of us who want to live in world free of hate as the "gay bullies" is laughable.  While it's true that, for some of us, making bigoted, straight-centric, machismo jerks like yourself feel a fraction of the pain we felt growing up in YOUR WORLD would provide some degree of satisfaction.  The fact is, it won't make the world any better for the kids you profess to be so concerned about.

Once again you prove how conservatives love to pretend to be victims all the time with your stupid rant.    Maybe you are really so stupid that you don't understand how freedom of speech works or what bullying is but instead I think you do know how stupid your arguments are but you don't care because you are a hate filled bigot.   Once again you prove you have such a dark soul that even dead children can't make you reexamine your hatred of gay people.   The crap you spew is something only the most hateful ignorant person could even think of, you are a special scumbag for writing it down.   you are an evil asshole and you should be ashamed of the joy you feel when gay people suffer.   Only the truly sick gets off at the misery of a group of people that have zero impact on their lives.

What can be more democratic than voting with your pocket book? Offending the sensibilities of reasonable minded customers by afflicting their business with Dean extreme brand of hatred is not only morally objectionable but turns out to also be bad for business. For Dean and supporters no such thing as bad press unless it would be in form of compromising photo with another man.

A small step. Sadly the car wash owner still doesn't seem to get it and only caved due to public pressure. They still seem to be defending these creeps. Why any business would let these fraudsters harass their customers is beyond me.

Freedom of speech works as follows.   Bradlee Dean has every right to spew his hateful bigoted filth.    The people that get pissed about Bradlee Dean's stupidity have every right to say they are pissed and tell business owners that they won't support a business that supports Bradlee Dean.    How does it feel to be so incredibly stupid you don't understand something most children could comprehend.   Congrats on your poor education.
