Adrian Peterson confesses to seatbelt violation via Twitter
| Adrian Peterson: football player, noodle enthusiast, criminal. |
But as far as crimes committed by professional athletes go, Peterson will probably escape this one with his reputation in tact.
Eden Prairie police busted the Vikings running back yesterday for driving without a seat belt.
Being the role model that he is, Peterson quickly confessed his guilt on Twitter. His lunch plans were going to be delayed, and it was no one's fault but his own.
We have to wonder why the cop didn't let Peterson off with a warning. Maybe he's not a football fan, and didn't recognize the driver. Or perhaps he's a huge Vikings fan, and watched Sunday's game?
Either way, Peterson doesn't sound too bitter about the ticket. With that $100 million contract, Peterson can probably swing this and still keep the lights on.
He even complimented the dedicated Eden Prairie officers in a follow-up tweet:
This is at least better than Peterson's 2009 run-in with the law, when Edina police clocked him at 109 MPH.
That pretty well sums it up: A couple of years ago, Peterson was really, really fast. These days, he's just bracing for impact.
