Good for Jesse!!! It's about time someone with influence stand up for The Bill of Rights!!!!!! Instead of writing an incomplete story, that is more an entertainment piece, why not cover the real story? What is our government doing that is so extreme that a man, who would rather retire and live in peace, is so dedicated to exposing the fact our country is being destoyed from within? This is not something created in Ventura's imagination! There's something serious happening! Why not cover the whole story, instead of engaging in shallow, modern day yellow journalism? Thank Jesse Ventura!! Keep it up!!

It's great to see there a few people still awake out there. It's really pointless to try and educate people who are not though. They are so enamoured and so entrenched in the system around them that they'll defend it the way they've been programmed to. You're a wack job because they've been tought that anyone who doesn't trust the government is out there and a conspiracy theorist. You are discredited the moment you speak against the Government. It's interesting how people react to sources I provide as if I sit around making them up, and when I show them the actual source they don't respond at all. The problem with it is we all have to live the consequence of the apathy and ignorance around us. I thought it was pretty sad when Ventura's quest was turned into a joke. Does anyone get that this whole case clarifies that the system meant to protect us is more currupted than we can imagine? This is just the tip of the ice berg, and people are caught up in not being serious, because it's unpleasant - or mocking people who take it seriously. Any excuse to not look at what's happening. "We're just having fun, don't bring up the facts." With awareness comes responsibility. That's why people would rather stay unaware, and attack the things that would make them aware. Strange. You would think if people were told about people being molested they would stop turning things into a joke, and want to stop a crime. I still don't understand the depth of apathy I see. Amazing how our civilization's end will be the result of apathy. Ian, I agree with how they defend the system. When presented the facts they defend the system even stronger. Wouldn't want to get too serious on this light hearted, local blog.

People who are not concerned about what is happening in America probably fall into one of three catagories. IN DENIAL: "We are doing great. Conspiracey theories are wrong. Everything is going to be alright." FORGIVING: "OK so our president made some mistakes; but he means well....bless his heart." STUPID: "Never mind TSA problems, and unemployment recovery; the game is on, and Lohan is going to court again." There is none so blind as he who WILL NOT see. We are spoiled!! We thought things were always made right up till now. It appears that this was all part of the bigger picture. We fought wars to prevent "other governments" from stripping us of our rights, only to have our own government do that very thing. The appearence is world takeover by a select handfull. Jesse says find the evil by following the money. The wealthy can be traced back to 13 ancient bloodlines. The Rothschild family ( belonging to one of them) control 80% of the worlds wealth. Let this be a doorway to research knowledge and undrrstanding more for those who want to know!!

Instead of coming to a blog and expecting the NYT, why not go some place that does the kind of thing that you are looking for? Or a Ron Paul newsletter?

Also, this blog covers local stories and local politicians (like Ventura). It isn't about getting to "the whole story" about our national oppression and loss of civil rights. Got it?

If it's dull to be angry about our government falling apart from within the sign me up. Dull is a culture where people worship celebrities, and the corporations they serve, and ignore the unpleasant reality of life because being aware carries a responsibility. I casually saw these comments, and am shocked at the level of ignorance and apathy. Surreal.

I think that Jesse has discussed a host of problems we in America have; includong unemployment. I've also heard him discuss Iraq, Fema Camps, Viet Nam, Kennedy Assination etc. Your comment hints around the old message vs messinger saying. Maybe he feels he can make something happen within the structure of the TSA. To indicate that he is one dimentional seems rediculous to me.

Wow!!! Thanks for contributing to a mature discussion about what's going on in this country. You think having the government molesting people is acceptable because the economy is in trouble??? You've got to be kidding?? If you think having the government being our employer is a good thing, you may want to consider studying the context in which this country was created. Spare me the dark side of America excuse! The human race has a dark side that will express inself within any man made institution ( i.e. The significance of The Declaration of Independence). I once thought comments like these were jokes, but now I'm concerned at how many people sincerely have reached this conclusion. Please reconsider your position "Michele."

This has nothing about any cult of personality BS. This is about a federal government molesting people to travel in a free country, and a man who had the backbone to stand up against it. If we stop this hero worship our culture has adopted, and appreciate what it really means to be free, we might find we all have more in common than we can imagine. Project your issues with Paul onto this all you want, but are we really okay with how our culture has changed in the past decade? Do our government's actions really reflect the will of the people? Does anyone realize how the TSA wants to scan us at random roadside checkpoints? All you can think of saying is about this politcal circus act we call the campaogn trail?
