Gary Jenson is kind of like the Grinch, but drunker.
Gary Jenson, a 52-year-old rural Wisconsin man, is facing felony charges for drunkenly ramming his car into a Christmas parade this weekend.

Jenson crashed his Dodge Neon into a float carrying "several small children" at the annual holiday parade in Mondovi, a small town near Eau Claire, according to charges.

Luckily no one was injured, but we guess that this is a holiday season those kids won't soon forget.

Jenson hit the float around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, according to charges. Instead of getting out of the car to assess the damage, Jenson apparently thought it would be best to keep on driving as if it never happened.

This didn't sit well with Brian Long, the driver who was towing the float--maybe because Jenson also hit Long's truck in the process. Long chased down the Neon, ripped Jenson out of the driver's seat, and called the sheriff's office.

Here's Buffalo County Deputy Mike Osmond's recounting of what happened next, according to his report:

Jenson appeared very confused and stated that he did not know what was going on and stated that he did not hit anyone. While speaking to Jenson I could detect a strong odor of intoxication coming from his breath while he spoke. I asked Jenson how many drinks he had, Jenson replied "a few." I also observed Jenson was having a difficult time standing without leaning on his vehicle.

Osmond brought Jenson into the Mondovi Fire Department's garage for a field sobriety test. Jenson failed 18 of 18 steps to the test. A Breathalyzer test clocked his blood-alcohol level at .227.

It didn't help Jenson's case that this was his seventh time being booked for drunk driving.

Jenson will lose his driver's license for at least two years, according to the charging documents. The felony could cost him up to $25,000 in fines and up 10 years in prison.

As if taking his license is going to stop him or anyone without one from driving!

Tim Pawlenty or Tom Emmer should hire this guy.   He would fit right in with their typical staff of hard drinking frat boys.

Drunk driving is a crime in Wisconsin? I thought it was a requirement.
