Michele Bachmann, polka dance champion, turns down Dancing with the Stars
Politico
Michele Bachmann is an award-winning dancer. Who knew?
We were really, really excited about the prospect of regularly embedding video of Our Favorite Congresswoman's performances so that everyone could watch, laugh, and snicker. But unfortunately, Michele turned down ABC's invitation.
Looks like we'll have to be content with the likes of Regis Philbin, Perez Hilton, and Gavin DeGraw.
Bachmann released a statement today shooting down the Dancing rumors. It says:
Looks like we'll just have to content ourselves with continuing to make fun of Michele's politics.
In full disclosure, I did win a polka dancing competition when I was in the tenth grade at my alma mater, Anoka High School in Anoka, Minn. But, despite my tenth grade polka success and my lifelong love of ballroom dancing, the recent rumors are false. I will not be joining 'Dancing with the Stars.'Bummer. Well, instead of making fun of her sure-to-be-ridiculous dancing, we'll just have to stick to calling her out for her often-ridiculous policy views.
My time and attention remains committed to creating more private sector jobs, and higher paying jobs, in the Sixth Congressional District. Serious issues face our nation. I'm continuing to push for cutting wasteful government spending, a successful conclusion to the decades-long St. Croix River Crossing Project in my district, and repealing the government takeover of health care.
