• Let's think critically here. You have lived in a society where you have been rewarded for having illegitimate pregnancies. That being the case, you have continued having children (a problem which you have not recognized as the cause of your financial woes because you haven't been forced to deal with the real consequences of your looseness and bad relationship decisions). You've allowed your problem to perpetuate and put you further into debt. But thank God the great, big government was there to tell you that it's ok. They'll just charge the middle class (or what's left of it) for your pregnancies and illegitimate behavior. If only we lived in a society where people like you were forced to deal with the consequences of your actions and learn what kind of behavior screws you over in life as well as what behavior keeps you stay on the straight, narrow path.

• I see that there is a lot of racist hatred on this post.  I am a black woman.  Yes, I may be the stereotypical black woman:  Single mother of 7 kids from fathers who did not give a shit about me or their children.  I was used as nothing but a hole to get their rocks off.  Then they leave.  Yes, it was a bad decision on my part.  But I paid the price.  I tried to work for a living, but stocking shelves at Target at $10/hr cannot support 7 kids, nor pay the rent, and utilities.  I was forced to go on public assistance because it is my only choice.  Think about it...working for $10 a hour making less than  $700 every 2 weeks...how the hell can you live on that?  With public assistance I get a nice apartment with controlled air conditioning when it is hot in the summer, my kids get a safe place to live (unlike having to rent a crappy place from a slum-lord), the EBT cards allows me to feed my children healthy food, and I don't have to deal with riding congested buses to go to a $10/hr job everyday. If the Republican party has their say, all of these benefits will be taken away.  The Republican party is only for the rich.  They don't care for us everyday people.  I am pregnant with my 8th child and what should I tell him when he is born?  Welcome to America.....Land of the Rich....but only if you are white and a Republican.  Obama is our only savior.  Obama is the only answer.  He is the 99%.  And we need him to take back this country from greedy Republicans!!

• Also, as we saw in the last election, it is much easier to buy elections at a local level, the return on investment is much better and much quicker, just ask the Koch Brothers and Scott Walker. If Ron Paul and his supporters were interested in overturning Citizens United, then I would take them seriously. Also if they raised concern about all the states that have banned gay marriage, are trying to or already have made it harder to vote, are trying to ban abortion, are taking away the rights of union workers, or any number of other state issues. Until then it's a bunch of rhetoric and naive hope. No better than Obama, and I would argue much worse.

• Kirk says "live and let die" but yet he never steps up to the podium.  Hide behind your screen troll.  My offer to 'debate' still stands.

• Well, since we all know SOMEONE has to make the rules, would you rather have it done at the Federal level or more local? Normally, state governments are much more likely to support the issues their constituants find important. It's much easier to get your voice heard at the state level and much easier to hold your local legislators accountable.

Yes people, it is a right for those who actually work to provide it for themselves. If government shall provide, you will NEVER have a home better than that which is provided by section 8.  Get it?
