Whilst she certainly deserves a fair trial, all this complaining about online messages is a distraction. It's not as if Senser's lawyer doesn't ALSO have a very public stage. He's whined in articles about every little thing, and all the so-called unfair treatment she's received. Takes two to tango.

I've been reading every story on this case, and the vehemence of Amy's critics has always been in direct proportion to the number of pro-Amy trolls in the comments.

It's been pretty obvious from the start that they're trying to get away with murder here.

I do not want to see Amy Senser unduly crucified but she needs to be held accountable for her actions. Only a very small percentage of criminal cases ever make it to court because the lawyers and judge typically try to work out a plea bargain. When those attempts fail and the case goes to court the "defendant" is "going all in" as it regards their future. If found guilty, judges typically have an upward departure at sentencing due to having been involved in pretrial discussions/plea bargains and it is usually based on the fact that the defendant was given an opportunity to plead and in essence accept responsibility for their actions and "hopefully" show remorse. If Amy Senser is found guilty by a jury, I certainly hope the judge takes her "gamble" into consideration.

How many people "hit something" while driving and rush home to call their attorney? If you knew it wasn't a person, most people would be calling their insurance agent. As for fearing for his client's safety, what a laugh....there are pedophiles, rapists, murderers etc. that are accused of much worse crimes who don't worry about their "safety". I idea of moving the trial due to publicity is also laughable, who does Nelson think his client is, the President of the U.S.? Moving the trial out to the country only allows Nelson to make the trial all about local Vikings hero, Joe Senser, and to play off the sympathy that he would get from that glorious history.

This strikes me as a bad move. She's going to become a media circus, and regardless of the verdict she has already lost in the court of public opinion. If I were her lawyer I would have said plead guilty, do your community service, go to rehab, and put it behind you.

Ah well, she deserves everything she's going to get.

I am not defending her alleged actions, but her lawyer has already requested a change in venue for the trial and I think that is a good idea. She obviously can not get a fair trial in Hennepin County. Another thing.....if she supposedly was very intoxicated when she hit this man.....and according to witnesses that her vehicle was "weaving out of its lane", how did she manage to drive all the way back out to Minnetonka (or Wayzata or where ever she lives) and not get managed to get pulled over? Anyone who uses I-394 (whether day or night) knows that the State Patrol are thick as flies on that stretch of freeway looking to nab Mercedes Benz and BMW owners who are going one mile over the speed limit. I highly doubt if she was that fucked up, she could have made it all the way home without getting pulled over. Also, the fact that the guy that she allegedly ran over was high on cocaine (which amusingly, City Pages never mentioned in their article) will be a major issue in this trial. Regardless, whatever your opinion is of Amy Sensor, she deserves a just and fair trial. And she certainly won't get one in Hennepin County.

I'm sorry...but I just can't understand how you can't know you hit a person? It's not like it's something small like a bird. It was enough of a hit to throw the guy, I don't care what kind of car you're driving, you're going to feel something from that. I'm glad she has to stand trial and I hope justice is served.
