Gerret Parks charged for throwing dangerous objects at moving cars
Parks was taken into custody after midnight in New Prague and booked into the Hennepin County jail an hour later.
Prosecutors charged Parks Tuesday with first-degree assault as well as four counts of first-degree property damage. From December 29 to February 27, there have been 14 incidents in Bloomington where a driver threw objects out of his window at other moving cars. Parks has been linked to five of the incidents, including one where Parks threw a vice through a national guardsman's windshield.
Parks was jailed over the weekend after leading St. Crois Falls police on a drunken high-speed chase.
Parks got into a fight with the cops who arrested him for driving 80 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The Star Tribune reports that his only known injured victim, National Guard Sgt. Jon Stacke, was hospitalized for three nights with a broken jaw.
Parks has a history of vandalism: in 1994, he was charged with using a slingshot and BB gun to shoot out windows while driving around town, according to the Strib.
