Coach White and her 14-year-old former player had been dating for about a month, the player told police.
Jenessa White was the 9th grade girls' assistant basketball coach at Blaine High School this past season. And somewhere along the line, she fell in love with one of her 14-year-old players.

St. Paul resident White, 20, was near Blaine's Jefferson Park, in a parked car and engaging in sexual activities with the girl when police came upon the pair Tuesday night.

White initially told police she's 16 before admitting her real age. The 14-year-old told police White was her coach and said the two had been in a "dating" relationship for about a month.

Today, White was charged with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third-degree sexual conduct. White, who was paid $4,000 to coach from November until earlier this month, remains a district employee but has been placed on administrative leave.

She previously coached 9th grade girls' basketball at St. Paul Highland Park, and passed a background check before being hired in Blaine.

Said Anoka County Sheriff Commander Paul Sommer: "This causes grave concern for parents who send their children off to school expecting it to be a safe and nurturing environment, and this is just another sad example where this is not the case."
