Marina Young allegedly shot at a warehouse where, she believed, her daughter hid
Marina Young shot at a warehouse where she believed her daughter might've been, prosecutors allege.

Young's 12-year-old ran away from home so Young went looking for her. A witness saw her pull up to a building in downtown LeRoy and shoot a rifle at an empty building.

The witness heard Young yell, "If you're in there, you're dead," before opening fire on the building.

Young drove up to the building with two children in the backseat, the witness claimed, and fired "three or four" shots toward the building, according to the Austin Post-Bulletin.

Young then walked up and shot the door at close range, according to the witness. She busted into the building with her two children, explored for a short period of time, and left.

A police officer later investigated the scene. He found that the door's lock was damaged and also found a spent .22-caliber shell casing outside the door.

Young admitted to police that she shot the building and went inside with two of her children, according to the criminal complaint.

She claimed that she was concerned that her daughter was "dead or frozen" inside the building, and wanted to shoot the lock open to get inside.

Young's daughter had gone missing around 4 p.m. on March 15. The alleged shooting happened around 7 a.m. on March 16.

Young's child was found later that morning. Young has been charged with drive-by shooting toward a building and discharging a firearm.
