Bouncers' faces are not ashtrays, you guys.

While most of us would never have to be reminded of that, it's a lesson that Matthew Salvatore Emerson apparently has to learn the hard way.

Emerson, 22, faces third-degree assault charges after attempting to put his cigarette out on a bouncer's face at The Saloon in downtown Minneapolis.

According to KARE 11, on March 20, Emerson tried to use the bouncer's face as an ashtray, but didn't stop there. In the course of the melee he also bit the victim three times on his hands and forearm.

The bouncer lost "a substantial amount of blood," police say.

Emerson remains in custody. If convicted, he faces (no pun intended) up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
