Michael Brodkorb alleges gender bias, hilarity ensues [UPDATE]

"Give me half a mil, or the MNGOP is coming down with me!"
Pass the popcorn. This is 'bout to get interesting.

Yesterday, attorneys representing former Senate employee Michael Brodkorb filed a notice of claim against the state of Minnesota, a precursor to a possible lawsuit against the state for improper termination. Today, it emerged that Brodkorb's legal strategy will be to argue that some of his female colleagues who have also bonked superiors kept their jobs.

The Star Tribune reports that "Brodkorb's legal team is prepared to dig deep into the romantic lives of legislators and staffers."

A legal document prepared by Brodkorb's attorneys says:
Mr. Brodkorb has evidence that similarly situated female legislative employees, from both political parties, were not terminated from their employment positions despite intimate relationships with male legislators. It is clear that Mr. Brodkorb was terminated based on his gender...

He intends to depose all of the female legislative staff employees who participated in intimate relationships, as well as the legislators who were party to those intimate relationships, in support of his claims of gender discrimination.
The Twitter-sphere went wild during a news conference this morning where Brodkorb's legal team discussed their strategy. Here's a sampling of some of the best and funniest reaction: Wouldn't it be the irony of ironies if one of the MNGOP's most notorious operatives ends up being a big reason Republicans lose control of the legislature in November? Stay tuned for the next installment of How the Brodkorb Turns.

:: UPDATE ::
Brodkorb just released a statement responding to allegations made by Secretary of the Senate Cal Ludeman. Yesterday, Ludeman released a statement accusing Brodkorb of attempting to "disrupt the work of the Senate" and "extort a payment from the Senate." Here's Brodkorb's response:

A legal document prepared by Brodkorb's attorneys says: ". . . . It is clear that Mr. Brodkorb was terminated based on his gender...."~ ~ ~I respectfully disagree.  It seems clear to me that Mr. Brodkorb was terminated based on the gender of the person he was involved with.

History shows us that it's just fine for MEN to be involved with their subordinates.  But let a woman step over that line . . . .

After all, this whole thing blew up because SHE stepped down when the affair was exposed.

Nuff said.

PS: the phrase "got 'em by the short hairs," does seem apt, don't it?

All of this bickering!!!  Look at this this way: Apparently our elected officials enjoy fucking.  Obviously, our elected officials are severely underfucked.  We need to stop this now.  I propose a Bill that would allow our congressmen and women to given a free rein to fuck and get fucked by whomever they choose without any consequences.  Perhaps we could have an event called "Fuck Fest Fridays" at the state Capitol, where any elected or appointed official could suck and fuck to their heart's content. Imagine the joy (or rather the horror) of watching Al Franken, Mark Dayton, and Amy Klobuchar in a hot 3-way anal/anal/vaginal train!!!!  Minnesota's congress has been severely underfucked since the 1970's.  We need to change this RIGHT NOW!!  Call your congressman or woman in your district and tell them that the public will no longer accept our elected officials going without the unlimited cock, pussy, and assholes that they crave!!

Remember:  Congress has been fucking us in the ass for decades.  Now it is their turn to get fucked.

Aside from the main questions here, it bemuses me how misogynist is  the ultimate insult made of someone, usually said of a male, that he amounts to the dregs of rinsing a woman's most private parts, as we used to say. What's up with that? Don't you see how hateful and contempuous that is of women? And I must say, lefties seem to use it way more than conservatives.

Much as I like the idea of rubbing smarmy Democrat snouts in scandal, and much as I really don't care what Repub's get snatched up in the wake, I gotta say Brodkorb is a real douchenozzle.

I have to grudgingly respect you for saying that. I never could understand how you could stand to hang out with that guy.

Per your twitter picture, you share Mr Cornkorb's taste in women.

Puhlease...

a) Brodkorb has a point, a very good point. Women get 2/3/4+ chances while guys who get 'caught' are shunned for stupidity. As it should be. Or not.

b) And who cares, MB is a second-rate douche. Not even a first-rate douche, second-rate....

c) The amount of 'illicit' sex going on at the Capitol on both sides of the aisle has been an open secret for decades. Anyone with a set of functioning glands and working eyeballs who walks through either the Kelly Inn or the Holiday Inn (and recently the White Bear Inn) will find themselves witness to staffers, legislators, lobbyists, and groupies making their 'arrangements' pretty openly.

d) None of the 'mainstream' outlets in MSP dare to investigate or report on this because they will find their nuts cut off for spilling the beans and wrecking the party (see the ill-fated Channel 9 investigation of Gopher Hockey under-age drinking for a guide).

e) Anyone who is pretending to be shocked by any of this should be taken out back for a quick lesson on moral honesty and how things work in the Real World (like it or not).

Grow up kids.

"Caught"? Right, because having sex is dirty, bad thing. Good people just take money from strangers so they can get elected to the legislature where they can pass laws punishing other people who have sex without their permission.

SHAME THEM ALL! Take their children from them, publish their pictures in the newspaper, stick microphones in their spouses' faces. Make them regret the day they decided to have a good time!

SANTORUM in 2012! (because you can't trust the Mayans to end the world on time)

Brodkorb to Congress: appease me, or I shall unveil a sex scandal the likes of which hasn't been seen since at least the last sweeps week!

"gender bias"I think that allegation clearly demostrates he also has a pus*y.

"Mr. Brodkorb has evidence that similarly situated female legislative employees, from both political parties, were not terminated from their employment positions despite intimate relationships with male legislators."

come on, give us the names!

Only if he wants to be on the defendant side of defamation lawsuits. There's a reason until now all the references to Brodkorb included "allegedly" or "suspected", or he was just "an unnamed Senate staffer". Certainly though, there's a threat to name names. There could be a sudden rash of legislators who just have to quit to spend more time with family.

Does Amy Koch or Micheal Brodkorb have anything to do with the "Defense of Marriage" Constitutional Amendment?  If so, I wonder which Gay Marriages they blame for ruining their own marriages?  Was it Ellen Degeneres?  I bet it was Ellen.

someguy

from what I heard - from a political reporter - was that Brodkorb was taken down because he was bossing around the elected GOPers. Koch was taken down for allowing it (and the boinking). The odd scramble to find new leadership was hampered by the scarcity of GOP leaders who weren't boinking a staffer....

Mark Gisleson
Mark Gisleson

Based on Brodkorb's attorney's own words, it appears that any woman they ask to give a deposition will have grounds to sue them for defamation.

On the other hand, if there is anyone in this state who knows the names of every adulterous Republican working in the legislature, it would be Michael Brodkorb. Sadly, I'm sure there are lots of reporters who know the same names, but that would be telling (not to be confused with reporting, or the art of transcribing press releases).

There's a difference between calling out some loser who prides himself on being an asshole, and disparaging an entire class of people. See buddy not everyone is as poor at arguing as you because some of us have more than a high school education. Your logic is as such: Because I made fun of you for posting over 900 comments over several years on a variety of subjects that you know nothing about (and nobody asked your opinion about either), everyone who has ever posted anything on the internet is on par with you and thus my criticism is invalid. To be clear, i'm not mocking you for the simple act of using a computer and posting online. I'm mocking you for being a tool who clearly has nothing else in his life and needs an outlet for the rage he feels against others for having actual shit to do with their time. Hope this clears things up!
