Man allegedly threatened to behead girlfriend with sword for deleting meth dealers' numbers
|Smith is allegedly a meth-fueled wannabe samurai.|
At one point during a possibly meth-fueled rampage, Smith's girlfriend found him sharpening his samurai sword on a grinder in their Vadnais Heights garage. "Want me to cut your head off?" Smith said, according to his girlfriend's account of the incident.
During a 17-minute 911 call, the police dispatcher could hear Smith, 50, screaming and using a baseball bat to smash things in the apartment he shared with his girlfriend.
Smith also threatened to "shoot the cops" when they arrived, and destroyed a laptop owned by his girlfriend's 10-year-old son, advising him to "grow up, get a job, and become a man," the criminal complaint says. That'd be solid advice if the kid wasn't, you know, 10 years old.
The woman and her son escaped when Ramsey County deputies arrived.
Smith's account of the incident? He told police he was indeed upset about the deleted numbers, but denied they belonged to meth dealers. He said one deleted number belonged to a work contact, the other to another woman he's seeing.
Smith is currently in Ramsey County Jail and has been charged with two counts of making terroristic threats.
