Curtis Wehmeyer, St. Paul pastor, arrested on suspicion of sexual assault
The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis removed pastor Curtis Wehmeyer from his duties last week after learning he was accused of sexually assaulting a minor. 
Curtis Wehmeyer has been removed from the St. Paul church.
The church found out about the allegations last Tuesday, and quickly reported Wehmeyer to the St. Paul police, says archdiocese spokesman Jim Accurso. Citing an ongoing case, Accurso couldn't get into further detail, but released a statement Sunday saying another pastor will be taking over Wehmeyer's duties.
"Pending the outcome of the investigation, Father Wehmeyer is prohibited from exercising any ministry in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis," Accurso says in the statement.
Wehmeyer became a priest in May 2001, and was ordained a pastor in 2009. Before his removal last week, he served at the Parish of the Blessed Sacrament in St. Paul.
Wehmeyer was arrested by St. Paul police last Friday. He was released from the Ramsey County Jail Monday, but the investigation is still underway.
Wehmeyer is alleged to have abused his victim over the course of two years, says St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla. As of publication, he has not been charged.
