To MIke. Everbody have the right to their opinion. That is why we join the military in the first place to defend and protect the American Way and all our liberties. But it is a shame that a person like you would disrespect the man and woman that serve. Only an ignorant would make the comments that you have made. First of all do your research, it is not the military that decide to invade a country it is our goverment. In other words it is the same man and woman that you and other idiots like you put in charge of us in the first place. Do you know that all the wars that the military had fought in the past and the present had always been politicaly motivated? Yes the Senators and other politics make it look like something patriotic but the reality is that it is politics that dictate who the "enemy" of the month is. It is a pity that some people feel that it is their right to lied about their service in the Arms Forces and about their injuries. This people have mental problems, and a huge ego to try to fake stories to grab attention for themselves. I chanllenge you Mike to join the military and try to fix our "problems" from the inside instead of vomiting garbage on the internet. It is easy to talk garbage when you do not know nothing. Like all great leaders says: "Do not bring a problem up if you do not have a solution" In other words intead of complaining bring solutions to the plate.

I have been on two deployments to iraq risking my life everyday, and for this LOOSER to get on national tv to boldly lie about this is a digrace to me and everyone that has served. What the dummy didn't know is that after each deployment it is stated on your DD214 where you have been and all of the awards that you received. I with everyone else.... KICK HIM OFF THE SHOW and make him pay back anything he has received.

It hurts me to see such a lying pathetic man standing up there with this lie I was in the army active duty in fort hood Texas I got to see many of my fellow soilders come back with injurys like that it's no joke I attended many memorials of soilders killed by RPGs this man makes me sick

It's called "Stolen Valor" and it's perfectly legal according to the US Supreme court. Course that doesn't mean we can't express our feelings about it. That's protected by the US Supreme Court also. Someone needs to bitch slap this asshole.

Also I don't give a shit about his story either way, it's a talent competition, not a morality or story competition. 

I know this guy and he could not be more full of crap. His very existence stands in complete opposition to all that we in the Gaurd represent. I do have to say that I was not surprised to see that he did this because this is the kind of person he is and I personally hope he fries for this.

I've listened to the video... he is a good singer, but he is not GREAT... the only reason people are saying he is GREAT is the emotional tie. The guy is the worst type of Soldier one who lies to cover up his short comings. If you didn't do it, don't brag about it. He wasn't even convincing enough to keep the stutter.... after he was done the host talked to him back stage and even the host said.. "Hey you didn't even notice.. you didn't stutter once just then" What a DICK!!! Funny though it was all over YAHOO that he made it but nothing yet so far as now he's busted.

I shed a tear for that mother fucker my husband is an actual disabled vet and i had lost a good friend in iraq...for him to go on tv and claim what he did he had disgraced the military and those before him and after him.

He didn't even sing that well. Granted, he had the guts to get on the stage, but to destroy that with a complete lie, is shameful. 

Out of curiousity is it possible that his lying is due to his service in Kosovo or something else?  I'm guessing lying like this might be tied to depression or ptsd.    I just wonder why a sane person would tell such an easily exposed lie on national television.   I remember reading a book called "The Westies" about the Irish mob in the 1970s.  The main criminal they followed was a Veteran who served during Vietnam but never actually saw combat or made it to Vietnam.  If I remember right he had a lot of issues they traced to feelings of cowardice he felt from not seeing combat.  That guy also had some traumatic non combat things happen to him when he was serving.  Just thinking about going to combat or being near it might be so much stress that some can't deal with it.  I'm not excusing his lying but the man did serve for 10 years.  It's possible he could have issues from that or he might be a famewhore creep.  Interesting story.  Anyway, they should do more for all Vets that serve mental and physical health wise.  The VA is great but it should be even better.  

I watched this episode, saw him limp on stage.... had a credible story.... I am so glad his old unit stood up and called this stolen valor douche bag out.  You would be amazed how often I have seen cases of stolen valor.... especially in the bar scenes of guys trying to impress girls.  LOL.  But this is the most public display I have seen yet!  I am a disabled Marine myself, and the way he played it, I was fooled by him.  Hope he goes down hard.  Disgrace to all of us that have served. ---- Charlie Co. 1/3 2002-2005 USMC.  

Switching off to sing did seem odd - wtf were they thinking?

I comend anyone who fight's for our country.I thank you for that BUT the stuttering is fake.You couldn't get one word out talking to the judge's but when you were telling your story you barley stuttered.It was so disrespectful of you to pull the war vet card for votes.

not only is he a lying fake but he really can't sing either. i don't think the judges were listening to his pitch they were just entranced by his story and by how the stutter went away while he sang. usawtf moments is right. BURN BITCH!

Ask anyone dealing with trying to get a VA disability rating or a medical retirement how easy it is to provide documentation of injuries.The national guard statement absolutely did not state that Poe was not injured. It simply said that the personnel files they keep do not contain documentation of that injury.Piss poor reporting. If this guy is lying, it's bad enough. Don't make it worse by whipping it up prematurely.

Most of those who have served in such critical places and missions never go out in the public and speak openly about it. At most, and in my humble opinion, those who have lived through this hell might speak about such with close friends and family at most. Most would only open up to another Veteran who has had similar experienced or served in their unit.

This makes me so sad.  I volunteer here in Virginia with DVBIC, that works with TBI and PTSD, I see what these soldiers go through on a daily basis and for someone to lie about this type of thing just rips at my heart.  This young man is talented, there was no need to lie!!!!  I feel so bad for the soldiers who really do suffer from these ailments to have someone lie about it and gain fame, when the guys who really do have it will never get the notariety or the fame that Tim Poe is gaining.  Thank you to all who have served our Country and who may be suffering with the side effects of war.  We love you, we honor you and we thank you.  Diane
