Wisconsin man is so irritated by paint smell that he rams his truck into a bar door

| Since the bar wouldn't give us a photo of the door, here's a can of paint. |
According to police, Andersen, 53, rammed his pickup truck into a brand-new door at an Eau Claire bar because he didn't like the smell of the new paint on the door, according to the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram. He's been charged with a felony count of criminal damage to property.
On May 28, police were called to the Idlewild Bar on Malden Avenue a little after 10 p.m. after the door had been damaged. And this wasn't some cheap door -- it's valued at $2,743.
The Idlewild's owner had just installed the door and Andersen, a regular patron, complained about the paint stench, according to the criminal complaint.
Andersen left the bar on his motorcycle and came back later in a pickup truck. Then he got out of the truck, kicked a ladder and some paint supplies of the way, got back in the truck and drove into the door. His work through, he backed up and left the scene.
Police contacted Andersen at his home, the complaint says, and Andersen said he probably overreacted and that he was aware he would have to pay for the door.
Andersen is free on a $500 signature bond and will return to court Aug. 6.
