Minneapolis police and Crime Stoppers are collaborating in an attempt to identify the suspect in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a man in south Minneapolis, according to CBS.

On June 27, Matt Call was about to step into his car outside Urban Bean Coffee, where he works as a barista, when he was struck by a motorist who did not stop and then fled the scene. The vehicle used in the hit-and-run is described as a black Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV.

Call spent several days at the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was treated for multiple broken bones.

Police have little information on who was responsible for the hit-and-run. Now, Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information.

Anyone with information in this case should call 1-800-222-8477 or visit the Crime Stoppers website. Tips may be posted anonymously.

There is also a benefit for Call, a local bassist, tonight in Minneapolis's Whittier neighborhood. All the money raised will go toward Call's medical expenses. Tickets are by donation and are a minimum of $20.
