Bachmann's source for Muslim Brotherhood claim reportedly man Grover Norquist called a 'sick bigot'

We shouldn't be surprised Bachmann's source seems to be as nutty as she is, we suppose.
SEE ALSO: What Communists were for Joe McCarthy, the Muslim Brotherhood is for Michele Bachmann

Last week, we told you about an explosive allegation Michele Bachmann is making -- she thinks the Muslim Brotherhood has made "deep penetration" into the U.S. government and wants federal agencies to investigate.

The allegation prompted Rep. Keith Ellison to say that "if [Bachmann] has sources for this type of information, she owes it to the country to reveal them." She hasn't done so yet, but Salon's Alex Seitz-Wald did some poking around and thinks he has a pretty good idea where Bachmann is getting her information -- from Frank Gaffney, a former Reagan defense official who is "one of the country's most prominent anti-Muslim conspiracy theorists."

Salon notes that "every one" of the five letters Bachmann sent to federal agencies demanding investigations "prominent cites Frank Gaffney," a man who the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a "top Islamophobe."

Gaffney has made a cottage industry out of Islam bashing.

Among other controversies, Gaffney notoriously said that American should "take out" Al Jazeera for inciting anti-Western violence by showcasing Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein's "call-to-arms," accused Barack Obama in 2009 of "not only [identifying] with Muslims, but [he] actually may still be one himself," and said that the Conservative Political Action Conference has "come under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is working to bring America under Saudi-style Shariah law."

A decade ago, Gaffney went as far as to claim that anti-tax activist Grover Norquist is an agent of the Brotherhood, citing his marriage to a Muslim woman. In response, Norquist savaged Gaffney, accusing him of "racial prejudice, religious bigotry [and] ethnic hatred." Norquist added that Gaffney's "whole life screams of bigotry, and what he said is just part of a pattern."

In other words, if Gaffney is indeed the source for Bachmann's 'Muslims are infiltrating the government' theory, then it should probably be taken with two crazy-sided grains of salt.

The only "very real possibility" is that Bachmann is a moronic twit!

Wow! Who would have thought that the City Pages would ever positively cite and defend as staunch a foe of taxation as Grover Norquist. It took their twisted triangle of love with Islam and its flip-side hatred of Michele Bachmann to create this awkward alliance. Seriously, Norquist and his wife are deeply vested with some sinister, pious, and zealous Muslims who wish to impose sharia and dhimmitude, by means of jihad, on unwitting and unwilling victims - both Muslim and non-Muslim alike. Gaffney (pbuh) is not paranoid, nor is he a bigot or an islamophobe. Rather, he is a concerned and dedicated individual who has devoted years of his life to investigating the sinister and surreptitious activities of people who are dedicated to the destruction of Western Civilization and the imposition of sharia and dhimmitude. Gaffney (pbuh) merely seeks to bring to light what political correctness has forced into the dark. In reality, there is no such thing as "islamophobia" (hell, most spellcheckers insist it is not even a word). A phobia is an irrational fear and/or hatred of something. There are plenty of rational reasons to be fearful or hateful of Islam, so there is no such thing as an islamophobe.  There are plenty of politicians, news anchors, writers, actors, comedians, pundits, etc. who say and write terrible things about Christianity and Christians.  So why then are "Christianityophobia" and "Christophobe" not part of our lexicon? People like Robert Spencer (pbuh) and Pamela Geller (pbuh) are routinely branded as bigots and islamophobes in the mainstream media, but when the media ever denounce the likes of Christopher Hitchens or Richard Dawkins Christophobes or bigots for their many negative comments about Christianity. Besides, if applied consistently, every person in the world with an opinion is a bigot. From Wikipedia: "Bigotry is the state of mind of a "bigot", a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one who exhibits intolerance or animosity toward members of a group.[1] Bigotry may be based on real or perceived characteristics, including sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, nationality, region, language, religious or spiritual belief, personal habits, political alignment, age, economic status or disability, dissension to popular opinions. Bigotry is sometimes developed into an ideology or world view."

I wonder what Osama bin Laden would say about Obamacare?  After all, he isn't really dead....he is locked up somewhere in an American prison (probably GitMo).  Will he have to pay the "penalty fee" if he doesn't sign up for it?

webcelt: he was referring to the war with Japan during WW2, but whatever.

And why would Sharia Law be so bad in this country?  According to Islam, if you live by the word of Prophet Mohammad, you are guaranteed a place in Heaven (and if you are a dude and you martyr yourself, you get 71 virgins to play with for Eternity.  Hey!  That sounds like a good deal to me!!)   :)

And why is Bachmann always on the news in City Pages anyway?  She left her presidential campaign, she is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, so why continue talking about her?  I mean continuing to go on about Bachmann's failed politics is similar to continuously going on about Al Franken's horrible career as an "actor/comedian/radio host".  Get over it and move on, CP!!

Actually Dr. J, you are wrong.  It is not "American Democracy" because America is not a Democracy: we are a Democratic Republic.  A true Democracy is when the people, not elected officials decide on such matters.  Just. Sayin.

Obamacare was debated for over a year.  It was passed by Congress, signed by the President and approved by the Supreme Court.  That's called America government crazy person.  Nothing hurried or secretive about that. Telling your lie just marks you as a liar that has nothing to contribute to discourse.  Shame on you for lying about the President.  Thanks to Jason for the edit advice.

When Grover Norquist calls you a sick bigot, a racist and so forth, the populace should gather pitchforks and egg-sized rocks, and chase you out of town like a rabid badger.  'Cause where Grover hangs out, he will have learned how to tell. Frank Gaffney is a really disgusting and frightening individual.  He's lucky to live in the USA, because most other countries have laws against the kind of filth he spews, and gets paid handsomely to spew, by bigots slightly more pragmatic than he. I mean, come on.  CPAC has been taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood to impose Sharia on the USA?  This isn't just a sick man.  He's a loony man.  A loony man who wants to murder about a fifth of the world's population.  And he seems to have a lot of influence over our Congressional Representative from the 6th District.  Nice.

Obamacare was debated for over a year in Congress on CSPAN.   Listening to Fox News has marked you as a poorly informed idiot.  Congrats.  Got anymore talking points that were debunked in 2010?

ignorant bigot, for fearing her country is under attack, which it is.  You democrats seem to have short memories, remember that war with the little island nation a few years back when you dems where in power, what did you do, you rounded them all up and sent them to detainment camps, all she is asking for is to check out a very real possibility.

Rep. Keith Ellison to say that "if [Bachmann] has sources for this type of information, she owes it to the country to reveal them."  This from a democrat, the party that hid almost every detail of obama care, that is covering up fast n furious, the party who our president is from that sealed every detail of his past including his high school grades.  As for backmann's statement, guess what you liberal hacks, that's actually what osama said is the game plan for defeating us.

Oh how I wish that would come true, esp. since I live in the 6th CD.  But out here, the bobblehead true believers just eat it all up.  It would side-splittingly funny were it not so scary. :-\
