Pantsless biking: One way to stay cool on a hot day.

Temperatures broke 101 degrees Wednesday afternoon, exceeding the 1949 record of 100, says Jim Taggart, meteorologist for the National Weather Service. But that probably comes as no surprise to anyone who doesn't have air conditioning or attempted to spend more than a minute outside.

And the bad news: Today isn't looking much better.

We're up for yet another day in the mid-to-high 90s, with a heat index around 105 to 112 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather warning through tomorrow night, when we should finally get some rain and thunderstorms.

"And then everything pretty much breaks down," says Taggart.

In the meantime, Taggart says to keep with the common-sense precautions. Drink water. Seek shelter. And, for the love of God, don't leave your dog or kids locked in the car.
