| The woman who police have been referring to as Jane Doe for nearly a week. |
Estimated to be in her 20s, she has been charged with stealing an SUV and trespassing in Fridley.
She allowed Anoka County police to take her fingerprints, but they found no matches in the national database. When they tried to take her mug shot, she put her hands in front of her face.
The woman is accused of breaking into an empty house on Rice Creek Way in Fridley, changing the locks and putting up drapes, according to the Star Tribune. In jail since Monday, she has said few words and has declined to identify herself. During her first court appearance on Wednesday, she gave Anoka County District Judge Dyanna Street a false name and a birth date that would've made her 15 years old.
Today, according to Commander Paul Sommer of the Anoka County Sheriff's office, police were able to take a photo in the jail's holding area when the woman was off guard.
Besides the photo, police have no new information about the mystery woman, according to Sommer.
"We have no idea who she is," Sommer said. "We've communicated with her on many different attempts. We've asked her if she's afraid of something or hiding from somebody, but she doesn't answer. She does speak perfect English, though, so she understands."
He said he's seen this type of thing on a few occasions with male prisoners, but never with a female prisoner.
