Here's some heartening news -- earlier today, John McCain put Michele Bachmann on blast on the Senate floor.

McCain went after Bachmann for her unsubstantiated fear-mongering about the Muslim Brotherhood's alleged "deep penetration" into the U.S. Government. Bachmann has publicly demanded that federal agencies investigate her claims, though it certainly sounds like a horrible use of taxpayer money to us.

One of the federal employees Bachmann singled out is Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. According to the Huffington Post, McCain traveled overseas with Clinton and Abedin when Clinton was a senator.

Said McCain:

I have every confidence in Huma's loyalty to our country, and everyone else should as well... All Americans owe Huma a debt of gratitude for her many years of superior public service. I hope these ugly and unfortunate attacks on her can be immediately brought to an end and put behind us before any further damage is done to a woman, an American, of genuine patriotism and love of country.
McCain also characterized Bachmann's McCarty-esque Muslim Brotherhood comments as "unwarranted and unfounded," "sinister," and having "no logic, no basis, and no merit."

Break out the popcorn and watch the footage for yourself:

Makes you kinda wish McCain was the GOPs 2012 presidential candidate rather than that Romney character, doesn't it?

See, Richard, the whole point of this story is that Huma Abedin has been thoroughly vetted, and is well-known in the high-powered Washington DC scene.  That's why McCain would bother to speak up for her.  That's why Boehner has now spoken up for her. The rest of your post is combination of slippery-slope and ad hominem fallacies, such as are very popular right now on the Right.  A chain of reasoning full of fallacies could still be a worthy basis for checking a few things out, but...Huma Abedin has already been checked out.  Thoroughly.  Which is why she's in an influential position working for the US Secretary of State.  Heck, Abedin's publicly known resume hints more at involvement with the CIA than with the Muslim Brotherhood. No, this is just a bunch of race-baiting by people who don't seem to have any other tricks.  This time, however, they've baited somebody who has some influential supporters.  Bad move. Oh, and there's a huge amount of doubt that "most informed leftists (i.e. leftists who understand and embrace their agenda, not the useful idiot college students, journalists, and internet commentators) share this goal. And that is why the Left carries the water for the stealth jihadists and  downplays the threats of shariah and jihad."  In fact, none of that statement is the least bit true in any way.  Leftists despise militant religionists of any stripe.  They do, however, believe in judging others on their behavior and actions, rather than on their race, color and creed.  That's why Leftists are so hated by people who support the likes of Rep. Bachmann.

Cross burning and lynchings, beating homosexuals to death and advocating laws to outlaw 'unchristan' behavior is ok then? Guns to the contras and the CIA training Osama bin laden isn't state sanctioned terror? The klan is listed as a terror group, as are many other organizations. As for homeland security...you want a police state? They spend a lot of time and money investigating ordinary Americans, for political reasons. Neither side is blameless, neither the left or the right is clean on this one.

Wow - what a vocabulary - you must be a liberal.  No facts, just hatred, sorta the same hatred as the Muslims have for Western society.

You must be a liberal, you have nothing to say, name calling is all you have, since you can't refute the facts.   Hope you don't breed.

First of all the crusades were a 1000 years ago.  Acceptable behavior was a lot different than it is now.  Secondly, the holocaust was the result of the Nazi philosphy, and they were defeated in a WAR.  Thirdly, there are mass murders, but they are don't rely on terrorism. Like it or not, state sponsored terrorism comes from Muslim countries.  Same for terrorist organizations.  How come there was no Dept of Home Land Security until 9/11 - duh. While the rest of the world has evolved over 1,000 years, it seems the Muslim religion has devolved.

Dr. J: your continual embrace of everything that Obama stands for no matter what is a religion.

Oh Doug, its seriously comical how stupid you must be in real life.   My whole point is how stupid biogts like you are.   Every religion does their own good and bad things.  You point out 9/11 and the Mohammed cartoons to condemn all Muslims.  How much worse are those things than the Catholic international pedophile ring?  Or the Holocaust?  Or the Spanish Inquistion?   Or the Oklahoma City bombings?    I bet you are stupidly saying to yourself those guys aren't Christians while Muslims would say the same thing about the terrorists you mentioned.   Only dumb bigots like you and Michele Bachmann think one religion is better than the other.  All religions are for stupid weak minded people.  Evil people will use religion to justify doing evil things to very stupid people like you.   I'm sorry you are such a dumbfuck coward no one has ever taught you this but thats why you are a stupid coward racist who spews stupidity on the internet.

Yeah, Islam is a 'peaceful' religion. Now Christians are peaceful, like the crusades, or the holocaust or that wonderful example set by Takamata during the inquisition. How about more recent examples like Sean Harris, and others who want women stoned and gays in death camps? Not like those Muslims at all, I mean, look at the wonderful work done by the kkk as good Christians. There are people who in the name of religion commit the worst crimes in history, in ALL religions. Should we outlaw religion? and no, I am not an atheist, I'm a Christian Deist, like our founding fathers. Because the things religion does in the name of God are vile, evil and disgusting.

I'd like to see what happens if the CP would run a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed. Yeah, things happen (like Calley) but it's not the norm - once in 40 yrs.  The child molestation was horrible - but not on the level of blowing up planes.  You dumb fuck.
