Police are combing the south Minneapolis neighborhood looking for witnesses.
The 24-year-old man shot and killed in a south Minneapolis house this morning was likely targeted by an acquaintance, says City Councilmember Gary Schiff, who was on scene today.

"There was a targeted killing," says Schiff. "The victims and suspect knew each other. It was not random. It was not gang related."

Police got the call around 10:30 a.m. and found two men who had been shot inside a house at 1511 E. 38th St.

The 24-year-old, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead on scene, according to police. A second man had also been shot, and was transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center. The second victim was seriously injured, but is expected to live.

Schiff says police officers are combing the neighborhood looking for the shooter.

"There must be witnesses who know something," he says, "and they need to come forward."

I am sure he will, in the meantime, anyone ELSE who saw something is welcome to ALSO help... The 2nd victim is probably not yet able to talk, depending on the severity of injuries.

"There must be witnesses who know something," he says, "and they need to come forward." Perhaps the 2nd victim, who is expected to live, could be of some help?
