Mike and Mike either suffer from amnesia or do a really bad job staying on top of NFL-related news.

Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg, hosts of ESPN's popular Mike and Mike in the Morning radio show, apparently have been living under a rock for the past five months. Either that or they just don't pay any attention whatsoever to Minnesota sports or politics.

Whatever the reason, during their show yesterday, the dynamic duo revealed they have no clue that a new Vikings stadium received final approval nearly three months ago.

The stadium topic came up in the context of Mike and Mike's brief 2012 Vikings preview. After discussing the possibility that the Vikings offense could seriously suck without a healthy Adrian Peterson, the duo addressed this question: "Will the rumors of the team moving to L.A. affect on-field performance?"

Here's what Mike Golic had to say (transcript via Vikings blog Daily Norseman):
Golic: "No, that's not gonna affect any player's performance. Players, you know, are playing for the Minnesota Vikings, but they're playing for 'Each Individual Player, Inc.' as well. So, to be distracted by the thought of that would be foolish for a player. Your best thing to do is to do the absolute best you can on the field. That's going to help yourself out."
Greenberg didn't chime in to compound Golic's ignorance or to correct his co-host. If you'd like to hear the full audio, click here. The L.A. relocation talk begins around the 1:40 mark.

We know Minnesota isn't one of professional sports' glamor markets, but come on guys, that's terrible. If you're going to make a living talking about sports and sports-related political topics, at least present yourself as if you've read a newspaper sometime during the last half-year.

But it was Tim Tebow's birthday yesterday. With all the time and devotion Mike and Mike (along with ESPN as a whole) gave to Tebow, it's not surprising that they would let that little bit of information like a new stadium slip in between their fingers.

What do you expect from people who were obsessed with Tim Tebow's birthday all day yesterday?

Well the Vikings stadium had very little to do with Tim Tebow so these ESPN idiots wouldn't have been paying attention.
